This build relies on Arcane Breach with the Violent Contact upgrade as its primary source of damage, making it an Ancestral Strike build. In this strategy, Arcane Breach delivers the initial blow, and if an enemy survives, Walking Bomb and the remaining damage from Arcane Breach finish the job. While this build excels at clearing large groups of enemies quickly, it may take a bit longer to deal with fewer or scattered foes.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  1. You can swiftly eliminate large groups of enemies.
  2. Arcane Breach can be spammed at no mana cost with Faith of the Ancient and a decent Ancestral Strike chance.
  3. Fast leveling thanks to the Staff of the Trainee.
  4. This build allows you to cover a significant area.
  5. You only need to use two skills.

Cons:

  1. It’s a glass cannon build, meaning you’re vulnerable to damage.
  2. It’s not as efficient against fewer enemies.
  3. To maximize its potential, you need both versions of the Staff of the Trainee (Primordial and non-Primordial) at max level (1000), along with character level progression. While not overly challenging, this may be a bit annoying.
  4. You must level up your skills before using the Primordial Staff of the Trainee due to the Malediction.
  5. Some players might find it boring, as the primary actions involve spamming Arcane Breach and occasionally using Time Warp to escape.

Skills and Upgrades Notes

Time warp

  • The Time Warp mastery plays a crucial role in enhancing mobility and mana regeneration, especially before acquiring Faith of the Ancients. This is achieved through the abilities Replenish and Life Shaper. At Tier 7 of this mastery, you can unlock Ancestral Command, which, when fully upgraded, grants a 10% chance for Ancestral Strikes.

Arcane breach

  • Arcane Breach serves as your primary damage-dealing skill. The inclusion of the Violent Contact upgrade allows you to deliver burst damage across a wide area. By utilizing Multi-Breaches and Faith of the Ancients, you can continually cast Arcane Breach, as long as you trigger an Ancestral Strike within the duration of Faith of the Ancients’ buff. Additionally, spamming this skill increases your attack speed if you’ve chosen the Arcane Flux upgrade.

Rift nova

  • Rift Nova should be employed when you possess the Battlemage Mantle. This combination can be used both offensively and defensively. Offensively, it grants extra Ancestral procs with increased critical chance and damage. Defensively, it’s effective because of the Time Stop effect, which can help you control the battlefield.

A noteworthy point to consider is that reaching the maximum level of 1000 is not particularly challenging due to the bonus experience available. Moreover, when the non-Primordial staff is maxed out, you can swiftly level up the Primordial version from level 1 to 55 with a single use of Arcane Breach, particularly in The Great Forge Wrath V.

Additionally, it’s important to keep in mind that the Reaper’s effect can trigger with any instance of damage, including each tick of damage over time. However, this damage is added after the critical hit or ancestral strike effect, meaning it doesn’t benefit from the bonus damage provided by those effects.
