Are you new to the game, and don’t really understand how to get evidence pieces, or are you just interested in how certain evidence pieces work? You’re in the right place! In this guide, I will explain every single evidence piece step by step.

EMF 5

Ahhh yes, the classic EMF 5. Always scares the living heck out of me somehow, even in my 140 hours of playing this game. Anyways, let’s get right into it.

Statistics

  • Out of 332 games EMF 5 appeared 50.1% of the time (176 games).

How to gather

  • EMF 5 can be gathered from the EMF reader as well as the activity chart. When everyone is outside of the house but the activity chart still shows relatively long level 4 or 5 spikes EMF 5 is most likely one of the pieces of evidence.

Possible ghost types

  • Phantom, Banshee, Jinn, Revenant, Shade, Oni

Photo rewards

  • As of right now an EMF reader showing EMF 5 does not count as photo evidence.

BONUS: EMF levels

  • EMF 1: Everything is normal
  • EMF 2: Interaction (such as knocking on windows, opening doors and closets, or touching light switches). You have 10 seconds to take a photo of the object it interacted with before it disappears.
  • EMF 3: Object thrown. Also counts as an interaction, 10 seconds to take a photo before it disappears.
  • EMF 4: Manifestation/ghost event. If the ghost appears, take one and one picture only of it.
  • EMF 5: Piece of evidence.

Spirit Box

Oh yes, the spirit box. An item I always like to meme around with. Has a lot of questions you can ask the ghost through this item.

Statistics

  • Out of 332 games, Spirit Box appeared 59.7% of the time (198 games).

How to gather

  • Spirit Box can be obtained by.. well.. using the Spirit Box. If Spirit Box is a piece of evidence the ghost always seems to respond to the question “Are you my grandma?”.

Possible ghost types

  • Spirit, Poltergeist, Jinn, Wraith, Mare, Demon, Oni, Yokai

Photo rewards

  • As of right now a Spirit Box showing a response does not count as photo evidence.

Fingerprints

Fingerprints! The type of evidence I always love to see (unless it’s a Revenant).

Statistics

  • Out of 332 games Fingerprints appeared 33.9% of the time (112 games).

How to gather

  • Fingerprints can be gathered from light switches and doors touched by the ghost by shining the UV light on them. CAUTION: Footsteps displayed by the UV Light do not count as Fingerprints.

Possible ghost types

  • Spirit, Wraith, Poltergeist, Banshee, Revenant, Hantu

Photo rewards

  • Taking a photo of Fingerprints is always recommended due to the high sum of money it rewards you with (unless you didn’t take a photo of at least 1 interaction, the Ouija Board (if it spawns), at least 1 picture of the ghost, or the bone yet) and the chance of getting a perfect game if there’s an Ouija Board in the house.

Ghost Writing

Ghost Writing, another personal favorite of mine due to the fact that I can get 2 interaction photos of it.

Statistics

  • Out of 332 games, Ghost Writing appeared 53.1% of the time (176 games).

How to gather

  • Ghost Writing can be obtained through a Writing Book. You have 2 of those in the van. If a ghost writes in the book, take a picture of it.

Possible ghost types

  • Spirit, Revenant, Shade, Demon, Yurei, Oni, Yokai, Hantu

Photo rewards

  • Ghost writing counts as a photo reward. If you have ghost writing in one book, make sure to bring in another one for the extra interaction picture. Ghosts can also throw the books (interaction).

Ghost Orbs

Ghost Orbs, the most boring piece of evidence in the existence of the game. Congrats, you saw a white particle fly through a computer screen. Do you want a sticker now?

Statistics

  • Out of 332 games, EMF 5 appeared 51.6% of the time (176 games).

How to gather

  • Ghost Orbs can be obtained through placing a Video Camera (note: tripod is recommended to use for a better view). If you see a white circle-shaped particle fly through the computer screen at the van looking at the camera placed in the ghost room, you have Ghost Orbs. NOTE: Ghost Orbs are commonly mistaken for Freezing Temperatures and the Smudge Stick being lit.

Possible ghost types

  • Phantom, Poltergeist, Jinn, Mare, Shade, Yurei, Yokai, Hantu

Photo rewards

  • As of right now, Ghost Orbs do not count as photo evidence.

Freezing Temperatures

FREEZING!!! As boring as the Ghost Orbs itself and it obscures my vision with the foggy breath. DK, please fix it.

Statistics

  • Out of 332 games, Freezing Temperatures appeared 50.4% of the time (176 games).

How to gather

  • Freezing Temperatures can be obtained by either using a Thermometer (if it’s under 3°C/37°F you most likely have Frozen!) or by using your eyes to spot foggy breath.

Possible ghost types

  • Wraith, Phantom, Banshee, Mare, Demon, Yurei

Photo rewards

  • As of right now, Freezing Temperatures do not count as photo evidence.
