Potential Fix for achievements not working after installing workshop mods.
Main Issue
Years ago after I installed so mods from the workshop, I realized I wasn’t able to earn steam achievements anymore. It seemed like it didn’t matter what I tried. Besides removing the mods and making sure that cheats were disabled in the launcher, I have tried uninstalling the game, logging out and back into Steam, and even after getting a brand new computer it still didn’t work.
If this sounds like the problem you’ve been having, I could have a potential fix.
Fix
Now I’m not sure if this is what fixed my issue, so if it doesn’t work for you don’t come at me.
Here’s the step-by-step, but I suggest you read the first section of the guide to ensure you are having the same issue.
- In you’re library, go to the settings of the game by clicking the little gear and click “Properties”
- Then go to the “Local Files” section and click “Browse”
- Check integrity of the files, it should comeback without issue. If it doesn’t, stop here and google this specific issue.
- Open the “Modules” folder and delete the file named “steam_workshop_items.xml”
- You’re done! Hopefully you should be able to get some achievements now.
