Question and Scenario
I no longer have raid troubles now that my bases have a good kill zone between two gates, with 6-8 turrets along the edges. However, no one is doing any work right now because they are all sitting on the turrets. My turret soldiers are all “red” most of the time, suggesting that they are engaged in the fight.
Is this because there are a few crippled raid opponents crawling around the kill zone? Why don’t they just shoot them and call it a day? My tanks do not leave combat mode. Only the turret guys remain in the fight. Is it possible to tell them to “get back to work?”
Answer and Solution
The simplest method is to kill out the opponents surrounding your base. Gunners will respond to any hostile enemies (the mouse pointer turns red on these enemies for simple identification). There is some logic in the game about not hitting crippled foes if they aren’t actively attacking you. Because of this, non-gunners overlook the threat, while gunners sense the threat, “do their jobs,” yet still follow the “do not attack” rationale because the opponent is handicapped.
