- Title: Town of Salem 2
- Release Date:
An early look in to effectively playing Enchanter in TOS2.
The Enchanter is a Coven Deceptive (CD) role. It works like a combination of Framer and Forger from the Mafia in Town of Salem 1. As an Enchanter you may choose one person every night to “Enchant”. This “Enchantment” makes the person appear “Suspicious” when checked by Seers, Coroners, Investigators, Sheriffs and Psychics. The Enchanter has a second ability that you can use only twice per game. This ability can be used the same night as the enchant ability. This second ability can alter a person’s will and role to whatever you want it to be. Just like any coven role, if the Necronomicon is passed on to the Enchanter, they also kill the person they Enchant.
What to do Early Game
Though the Framer was basically useless in Town of Salem 1 because of the lack of Town Investigative roles (TI) affected by it, in Town of Salem 2 the Enchant ability is very powerful. Remember to use your Enchants on people who have “Suspicious” activity. You could always coerce a TI to check one of your Enchanted people to get a free day time lynch. The Enchanter is a great counter against Psychics. Enchanted people often show up as the evil in an odd night.
The Enchanter is a great role to cause chaos. Since Spy no longer receives Coven visits, you can change someone’s role and will without Town figuring it out. This is especially useful in a set role list where there is little claim space. You can change someone’s role to counter claim someone else’s role. You can then claim the forged persons role (E.G you change a Retributionist to a deputy, you then claim Retributionist). In such a small role claim space Town will usually put two and two together and hang the person who’s role contradicts the dead person. In addition, Medium is no longer able to foil a forger’s plan because dead people are not able to tell Medium their actual role. As stated above, another strategy is to Enchant a person who has not been talking much and then push them to the stand. Ask for a TI to check them to “confirm” the person. If checked by any TI, they will most likely be pushed and hung the next day. A final word of advice is to plan out what you want to forge a person’s role and will as. If it is late in the game, people will expect them to have a will with visits. If you forge someone’s will you do not include this, Town might come to the conclusion that there is an Enchanter. I would plan out a fake will for your target in your note’s section and then copy and paste it into your target’s fake will.
Necronomicon Priority List:
The Necronomicon grants the user the ability to kill as well as use their ability. For example if the Jinx had the Necronomicon, they would attack the person who they choose but they would also attack a random person who visits that person. This keeps the integrity of their ability but still lets Coven get at least one attack per night. This list outlines the order of who gets the Necronomicon.
