The old (before HD overhaul) build of the game is still available. This guide will show you how to switch to the old build.

As the HD version is currently only supporting 3 Languages (more to be added later), some might feel betrayed because the game was listed in their native language when they’ve bought it. So here’s how to change to the old build (which won’t get updated, so either wait until your language gets supported, learn English, or stick with an outdated version of the game which won’t get bug fixes).
Community Mod Succuberry was so kind to share the information on how to switch to the old build, but I guess that information will be soon lost in the steam discussion so I’ve thought it might be good to back up that knowledge somewhere.
Backup Save File
Open up windows explorer and go to: %userprofile%\appdata\locallow\
Now the easiest way to backup your save files and your presets and everything is just to zip the ‘L2Games’ folder and copy it somewhere else. Afterward, just delete the L2Games folder.
The Reason why we back up is that the save files are probably not compatible with the old/new game version. Backup works for both versions the same way. Just unzip the folder in the same location to restore.
Switching to the Old Version
To switch, right-click on the Game and choose Properties > betas and select before_overhaul – The build that was before HD Overhaul.
Now steam will update the game. Usually, updating takes longer than just reinstalling because steam will try to merge files. So I would recommend pausing the update, uninstall, and then reinstall the game – that’s just way faster. But if your internet connection is slow, then merging the files may be the best option.
There is also a test branch available, but it’s probably unstable and not a good choice for a daily grind.
