DROD Gunthro and the Epic Blunder Missable Achievements Guide

Conquistas

Most of this game’s 300 achievements are for awarded solving challenge scrolls in specific rooms. If you need help solving those challenges, refer to this guide on how to use the offical forums to find a room’s solution. Most of the solutions will also have help on how to solve challenges.

This guide covers the more ambigious achievements that may be missed completely if you know what to do beforehand.

If you don’t know where to start, I recommend playing in this order:

1. Gunthro And The Epic Blunder — It’s the first you buy on Steam and covers most the basic mechanics in games below.
2. King Dugan’s Dungeon — The first game but a DLC on Steam. Simplest mechanics-wise, but puzzles become harder.
3. Journey To Rooted Hold — The second game but a DLC on Steam. No reason to play this before any of the above.
4. The City Beneath — The third game but a DLC on Steam. Hardest of these four, play this one last.

DROD: Gunthro and the Epic Blunder

GatEB has 42 conquistas. 34 achievements are challenge scrolls tied to individual rooms, and two are completion and mastery achievements. Below are the remaining six achievements.

Explorer Extraordinaire

 Enter the Spider CaveSpider Cave is one of the post-mastery dungeons. Place of Whims being the other.

DROD: King Dugan’s Dungeon

KDD has 102 conquistas. 100 achievements are challenge scrolls tied to individual rooms, and the last two are completion and mastery achievements.

DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold

JtRH has 82 conquistas. 80 achievements are challenge scrolls tied to individual rooms, and the last two are completion and mastery achievements.

DROD: The City Beneath

TCB has 74 conquistas. Two are completion and mastery achievements. A bunch of them are more ambiguous compared to the previous two games. Below is everything not tied to a challenge scroll in an individual room listed in chronological order.

Resoluteness

 (TCB) Return from The High PathGo south from Infohut: 1E for a short cutscene.

Patron of the Arts

 (TCB) Attend the theaterEnter the Theater Hall from The City: 1N1E and watch the cutscene.

Tourist in the Beneath

 (TCB) Take a stroll down the Golden LaneThe Golden Lane is accessed from The City: 2N3E.

Whodunnit?

 (TCB) Activate the cutscene in The Fork after murdering 186th GuideGuia 186 can first be killed in Quest for Knowledge: 1E. This must be done before finishing Quest for Knowledge, and the relevant cutscene activates after returning from Deep Uncturage.

Just Call Me “Mario”

 (TCB) Take care of the plumbing problem Under the Library (Cidade:5N3E)This achievement is unmissable. It’ll unlock in The City after Under the Library and Interlude: Negotiations.

Brotherly Understanding

 (TCB) Tell the searching brother about everythingThis is a three-part achievement. Speak to the searching brother three times.

1. Imperdível. You’ll talk to him in The City: 3N3E after Interlude: Negotiations.

2. Imperdível. You’ll talk to him in The City: 3N3E after Holding Vats.

3. Return to The City: 3N3E after visiting The Asking Chamber.

Who Wants to Be the Guy? (TCB) TV:1N – Die in the last cutscene

Have the goblin behind you when you trigger the 3rd cutscene and it’ll kill you during the cutscene. If the goblin doesn’t come up to kill you, it’s still afraid of your sword.

Not Without Honor in His Own Country

 (TCB) Reach the raft without having killed any Dugandite guardsThere are actually several ‘paths’ to the Dugandy segment, depending on how many guards are killed. Don’t kill any guards at all and this achievement will unlock after escaping on Dugandy: 2S1W. Do this first then restore and kill everyone if you want to have everything fully explored.

A Legend in His Own Time

 (TCB) TV: Eavesdrop on a bedtime storyEnter the house on Dugandy: 1E and watch the cutscene. Approach the two characters for the achievement.

The Play’s the Thing

 (TCB) D: Listen to the guards at the castleWait on Dugandy: 1N until you get a short conversation between two guards.

Changing of the Guards

 (TCB) CD:2N1W – Kill the maximum 16 guardas (requires having killed at least 8 previously)Matar 8+ guards along the way to Castle Dugan. Upon reaching Castle Dugan: 2N1W, you’ll have to clear the hardest version of this room.

Slaughter by the Water

 (TCB) D:2S1W – Kill all the guardsAfter escaping from Castle Dugan, kill all the guards that spawn before going on the raft.

I Got a Name

 (TCB) Get an official name from the Naming OfficeImperdível. You’ll have to go to the Naming Office after completing Holding Vats. Don’t forget you can unlock “Five Slayers (My Brain Hurts a Lot)” while at the Naming Office.

Fancy Meeting You Down Here

 (TCB) DAA: Speak with Halph, then leave the roomHead west from The City: 4N4W and make your way round to the DAA Headquarters on The City: 7N4W. Go inside for a cutscene.

Knowing is Half the Battle

 (TCB) The Patronage: Find and talk to the PatronsHead north from The City: 4N4W and find The Patronage on The City: 7N3W. After the opening scene, follow the pink citizen through the crowd.

The Dark Side of Town

 (TCB) Find the secret dark side of The CityThis is possible after getting access to the west side of The City. Requires talking to several people in order to unlock a secret area.

* The City: 3N3W – talk to the pink citizen

* The City: 2N3W – talk to the pink citizen

* The City: 4N5W – talk to the orange citizen

* The City: 1N4W – step on (8,2) to be transported to the secret area.

There’s nothing else to do here until after mastering the game.

Architect of Her Own Downfall

 (TCB) Talk to VeemisVeemis is in Rooted Hub: 1S2W. You’ll come here after Torture Chambers.

Looking Out for Number One

 (TCB) Receive a promotionImperdível. You’ll unlock this achievement upon returning to The City after completing Pirate Hideout. Don’t forget to finish “Brotherly Understanding” before leaving The City.

Hero of Another Story

 (TCB) FR: Speak with TendryTendry is in Forgotten Ruins: 5N1W. Enter the room for a conversation and the achievement. Don’t leave before it triggers.

Suburban Smitemastery

 (TCB) TU: Clear all 12 puzzle rooms (then visit 1W)Fairly self-explanatory, mas o 12 puzzle rooms are 2N1W, 3N2W, 1N2W, 2N, 2N1E, 3N1E, 3N2E, 4N1E, 1N1E, 2N3E, 1N3E, and 2E1S. Consulte “The Dark Side of Town” don’t know how to reach The Undercity.
