This guide will show you some of the best tips and tricks on how to beat all bosses in Prison City. There’s a total of 12 bosses that you will soon encounter in the game. Take note that defeating all of these Prison City bosses will also unlock some of the achievements tied into them.
Tech Engine
Difficulty: 1-Star
Strategy: Pretty simple. Just stay far away, and it won’t shoot anything at you. Your chakram can hit it easily from where you are.
Hind D
Difficulty: 1-Star
Strategy: Not hard at all. It follows a pattern you can learn. A bit of practice, and you’ll get the hang of it.
Fury Rhoads
Difficulty: 3-Star
Strategy: Not too tough. When the battle begins, press and hold the left bumper button, jump, and attack. Move forward, retreat after the first shot, jump to lure the next projectile, and strike again. When the enemy is off-screen, attack diagonally; you’ll land hits even when they’re not visible. Watch out for molotov cocktails and attack diagonally when the enemy and their gang return. Once they’re in front, hold down the right bumper button and keep attacking until they’re defeated. Just be cautious when they have a handgun; dodge projectiles, and don’t take unnecessary risks.
Jumbotron
Difficulty: 2-Star
Strategy: Another straightforward one. The initial head shoots homing projectiles; attack while avoiding them. Move beneath the next head and continue attacking. Dodge the attempts to crush you, attack the third head while avoiding fast projectiles, and defeat it. The final head spawns electrifying mechs; move left to right, attacking diagonally to avoid their attacks. If the first head is still alive, move left to right to dodge projectiles from the destroyed head’s locations. Destroy the next head and finish the battle.
Mistress Drosera
Difficulty: 1-Star
Strategy: Quite simple. The boss has a predictable pattern. Watch out for pink flowers she spawns occasionally; deal with them easily. Patience is key, as it takes time to defeat her.
Coolant Drive
Difficulty: 5-Star
Strategy: The notorious tough one. Highly reliant on luck. Playing ping-pong with this mech is challenging; react quickly to the ball’s speed. Stay calm if you manage to avoid hits, as the rest of the battle isn’t as difficult. Aim for a 6-0 score.
Mod Loader
Difficulty: 2 to 4-Star
Strategy: This can be either easy or challenging based on your approach. The safer method involves getting under it before full spawning, attacking, moving to the side, attacking diagonally, and sliding under its leg when it drops bombs. Repeat this process patiently for a safe victory.
Voltaic Nodes
Difficulty: 3-Star
Strategy: The central one drops down after shooting five projectiles, moving up after a while. Dodge the initial projectiles by moving left or right. Deal with the bottom one first to prevent it from becoming too fast. Memorize the movement patterns of the others; not a difficult boss, just time-consuming.
Doc Diver
Difficulty: 4-Star
Strategy: This one posed challenges, but I figured it out. The rising and falling water add complexity. Start attacking from behind when it appears, keep a distance to avoid bombs, and deal with rats it drops. After it hides and drops more rats, attack diagonally. If on the left, no water level rise; attack from behind. If on the right, hang from the fence when the water rises, be patient, and attack when close. Deal with it patiently to minimize damage.
Hellevator
Difficulty: 3-Star
Strategy: Moderate difficulty. Crouch at the start, attack when it appears, and avoid attacks. When two mechs trap you, attack diagonally while evading. Continue dodging until it’s destroyed.
Chief Payne/Maximum Payne
Difficulty: 2-Star
Strategy: Very manageable boss. Watch out during the first phase when it shocks itself; attacking reflects shots. The rest is predictable; follow the cues on the screen. Stay calm for a flawless victory.
Spirit of Detroit
Difficulty: 5-Star
Strategy: If you reach this boss with three HP, it’s manageable. Mostly RNG; avoid attacks and ceiling parts. Destroy small parts with your chakram. Dodge the laser, aim for the open chest, and hang from the correct hand to avoid rockets and lasers. Navigate bullet hell and ceiling parts; be swift after the chest closes to avoid fast projectiles. The rest involves handling homing and bullet hell projectiles. Best of luck!
