Guide to all 9 side routes in the game: Laurel, Logan, Luke, Manuel, Raven, Suki, Angela, Pastel, and Corrinna in Magical Diary: Wolf Hall.

Important Dates

There are some events that “lock-in” routes across most playthroughs. The dates for them are:

  • December 20: Professor Potsdam casts the Connection spell. Choose who to think of.
  • February 10: Buy a $5 Valentine’s Day gift for the character you’re pursuing. I don’t think having it be friendly or romantic really makes a difference. I chose romantic every time just to be safe.
  • March 17: Your chance to invite a character to the play for $5. (the main 5 routes, Luke, Manuel, Angela, or Corrinna)
  • May 1: Last day of the game and the May Day Ball. You should be able to dance with the character you wanted to if you made all the right choices.

In this guide, I didn’t list every time you interacted with a character because a lot of scenes just do not have dialogue options, but I did put all the important choices and requirements.

Laurel

Easiest side route in the game. She and Logan are the people you get to dance with if you fail any of the other routes or just choose not to get close with anyone. You could make the decisions below to make sure you dance with her.

  • December 20: Think of No One
  • February 10: Don’t buy a Valentine’s Day gift
  • May 1: choose “Reveal yourself”

Logan

Luke’s twin brother. Pretty much the same as Laurel’s route, but don’t reveal yourself.

  • December 20: Think of No One
  • February 10: Don’t buy a Valentine’s Day gift
  • May 1: choose “Stay in disguise” and “Ask Logan to dance”. As a bonus, you could dance with both him and Luke at the same time, which is really cute.

Luke

Personally my favorite side route. Luke is adorkable. His route is straightforward, unlike his weird sense of humor. Just be nice to him throughout the year.

  • December 10: Help Luke out
  • December 20: Think of Luke
  • January 8: Spend $5 for a Bingo card.
  • January 13: Choose “Adventure!” to sneak into a dungeon with him and Donald.
  • February 10: Buy Luke a Valentine’s Day gift for $5
  • March 17: Invite Luke to the play
  • April 1: April Fools Day Luke event.
  • April 9: Choose either “Defend Luke” or “Stay silent”. Doesn’t really matter.
  • April 17: Decide if you want the route to go the romance or friendship way, then ask him to the May Day dance.
  • May 1: Luke dances with you.

Manuel

The werewolf boy. Another cute side route. He has to be treasurer and you have to join Mushroom/Nature Club, then hug him later on to be able to dance with him at the Ball.

  • September 18: Join Mushroom Club
  • October 11: Vote Manuel for Treasurer.
  • December 20: Think of Manuel
  • February 10: Buy Manuel a romantic Valentine’s Day gift
  • March 2: Choose “Protest” or “Bluff”
  • March 17: Invite Manuel to the play for $5
  • April 9: Choose “Hug Manuel”
  • April 19: Go with Manuel
  • April 21: Ask Manuel to the ball
  • May 1: Dance with Manuel

Raven

Your favorite goth gf. I found it easier to do Raven and Suki’s routes right after each other. The main requirements for Raven’s route are to become her Secret Santa and to just run into her a lot at the beginning of the year. After that, you will have more events with her. You also cannot be Class President, otherwise you won’t get to be her Secret Santa.

  • There’s no specific dates, but make sure you go to the Mall and visit the Magic Shop twice before October 31st to run into Raven.
  • November 1: Encounter Suki and Raven the day after last night’s dance incident with Barbara
  • November 2: Study in the Library to run into Raven (not required, but you get to see more Raven)
  • November 11-13: Take gym class on one of these days, run into Raven, and choose “Get the Professor” for maximum Raven points.
  • November 23: Go to the mall and window shop to run into Raven.
  • December 16: Give your Secret Santa card to Raven
  • December 20: Think of Raven
  • April 24: Ask Raven to the May Day Ball.
  • May 1: Dance with Raven

Suki

Raven’s roommate. Weirdly perceptive and charming girl. You can’t run for Class President during her route either, which is why I think it’s best to do hers before or after Raven’s route. There are some oddly specific requirements for Suki, but if you know them, it’s doable. You need to get a detention for failing Exam 4 and some Green Magic points. These requirements make sense if you think about how much she loves creatures.

  • September 18: Try to join Dragon Club
  • October 11: Vote Suki for Class President
  • Anytime before December 14: There are 3 events you need. Keep going to Green Magic class and learn the Heal spell. Professor Potsdam will eventually give the talk about pronouns and gender in Green Magic. Then Suki will talk to you after class about dragons.
  • December 13: The 4th Exam with the cat beast. Make sure to fail this one to get detention with Suki. I just wait and let the cat hit me until I get 0 HP.
  • December 20: Think of Suki.
  • February 10: Buy Suki a Valentine’s Day gift.
  • February 14: Choose “Go check on Suki”
  • April 14: Your character asks Suki to the dance
  • May 1: Dance with Suki

Angela

She and Pastel are not great people, but their routes were interesting. The way to do Angela’s route is to follow William’s until you get rejected.

  • December 20: Angela is not an option, so think of William and get rejected by him later.
  • February 10: Buy a $5 romantic Valentine’s for William
  • February 14: Depending on your relationship with him, he will either reject you right away or you will need to choose “Keep Quiet” to get rejected.
  • February 20: Angela introduces herself. Choose “I’m worth it”.
  • March 17: Invite Angela to the play. Choose “Act magnanimous”. You must have $10.
  • March 19: Angela asks something. Choose “Be Secretive”.
  • March 21: Go to the play with Angela
  • April 18: Your character invites Angela to the dance if your relationship with her is positive.
  • May 1: Dance with Angela.

Pastel

Similar to Angela, you get Pastel’s route after being rejected by a main route character, but this time it’s Minnie. Minnie’s route requires you to become Class President with her, so I would use the Becoming President guide if you’re having trouble. Follow Minnie’s route until you’re prompted to choose her or Pastel, then choose Pastel.

  • Become President and pursue Minnie’s route.
  • March 19: Choose Pastel, despite all the red flags lol
  • March 25: You can choose to “fool around” with her or keep it friendly. Either choice works.
  • April 24: Pastel says she’ll save you a dance
  • May 1: Dance with Pastel.

Corrinna

Pretty and insightful shy girl. The hardest route in the game, even the developers said so. I guess it makes sense that it would be hard to run into her, given how shy she is. Her route requires you to join the Poetry Club, become co-presidents with Minnie, and start the book club. I didn’t even know there was a book club until I tried her route. If you pursue any other route while going after Corrinna’s, it cancels hers out and you won’t get to dance with her, which is another reason Corrinna’s route is the hardest. Try to only focus on her the entire playthrough.

  • Campaign to win the election and become President. (Have William be campaign manager, Choose Golden Eagle, spend money on paper badges, posters, and standard cupcakes)
  • October 11: Minnie offers the chance to run as a co-presidents. Accept it.
  • October 16: Follow the footsteps.
  • October 19: Follow the footsteps again to find William and join the Poetry Club.
  • November 30: Ask Ms. Darden about books to be able to start Book Club later.
  • December 20: Choose “No One” since Corrinna isn’t an option.
  • January 4: Choose to start the Book Club after meeting with Minnie.
  • January 11: Your character will ask the Poetry Club members if they’re interested in Book Club.
  • February 10: Buy Corrinna a Valentine.
  • February 21: Corrinna will ask why you sent her a Valentine. Choose “Book Club”.
  • March 17: Invite Corinna to the play for $5.
  • April 23: You ask Corrinna to the Ball.
  • May 1: Dance with Corrinna.

That’s all the side routes until we get a Potsdam one. Let me know if there are any errors or if you have any questions. Hope this helped!
