This tutorial helps players bring back the Zunist religion in Crusader Kings 3.

Overview

There are two main ways to revive Zunism in Crusader Kings 3.

The first method involves collecting enough piety to convert. This usually requires acquiring all possible resources to minimize the conversion cost. Some players use exploits to achieve this, as the costs of converting to unreformed, different religious family, and dead religions can stack up, resulting in a very high conversion cost.

Now, let’s talk about the second, and easier, way to revive Zunism. You can find a character with a secret faith in Zunism. You might be wondering how to identify such characters since it’s a secret faith. Don’t worry, I’ll share the information about the only character (that I know of, though there might be more) with a secret faith in Zunism.

The Actual Character

Now, let’s talk about the specific character who secretly follows Zunism in the 867 A.D. start date of Crusader Kings 3. This character is Vālī Salih kurê al-Hujr, a vassal located in the very North-East of the Saffarid Grand Amirat, specifically in Zamindawar.

What makes this character significant is that they belong to the Zunbil dynasty, the same dynasty that founded Zunism. It’s worth noting that this character doesn’t have set traits or lifestyle education, so these aspects may vary in different playthroughs.

To revive Zunism with Vālī Salih kurê al-Hujr, start by playing as this character in Crusader Kings 3. After accumulating 250 piety, click on the “Reveal True Faith” decision.

Following this, you’ll be presented with the choice to convert immediately or wait for a better time. It’s recommended to convert right away.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully converted to Zunism. If playing in Persia isn’t your preference, you have two alternatives:

  1. Find a character with a secret faith to educate your heir, increasing the chance of them adopting the secret faith.
  2. Simply create a Zunist character using the character creator.

Now, go ahead and immerse yourself in the world of Zunist gameplay!
