What are Seasonal Events and why you should play them

Seasonal Events are limited-time themed events, where you can get some special items which are only accessible this way. In some Seasonal Events, the environment and some enemies have a different look and there are even some variants of bosses.

How to play Seasonal Events

Seasonal events occur if the computer has a certain date (e.g. for the Christmas Event 13.12.’22 – 05.01.’23) or if you change the starting options of the game on Steam.

The starting option needed is “-season

ID“. You can use the name of the event instead of the ID too.

The bosses have special spawn items and the drop chance of their addional loot is 100%. Every event boss has an own chest design.

The Great Egg Hunt

SummaryAll enemies from the biomes (Dirt Biome, The Clay Caves, Forgotten Ruins and Azeos’ Wilderness) can drop biome specific items. You can craft with them the boss summoning idol.

Notable Items

Eostre Necklace
Very useful for harvesting due to it’s +10.3% extra harvest chance. Together with the Farmer’s Hat and two Petal Rings and gardening level above 85 the extra harvest chance is topped at 100%.
Radical Rabbit Ears
This helmet provides the highest possible movement speed increase (+3.8%) for its slot.
Useful for the Achievement “In a Rush”.

Creepy Costume Party

SummaryThe four changed enemies (Big Larva, Caveling Miner, Caveling Shaman, Caveling Brute) drop lootbox-like items. These can contain all event items including the boss summoning idol except the boss loot.

Notable Items

Spooky Blanket Hood
This helmet provides the highest possible movement speed increase (+3.8%) for its slot. Useful for the Achievement “In a Rush”.
Frankenbrute Head
The only helmet with knockback chance (+4%).
Dracularva Cape
The only Chestplate with melee lifesteal (+3 health per hit).
Pumpkin Lantern
A Lantern which provides +4 light and +0.5 health every second.
Samhain Offering Necklace
This necklace provides the highest possible melee lifesteal (+4 health per hit) for its slot.
Together with the Samhain Curse Ring the player hast +7% chance to gain a bit of health instead of dying.
Samhain Curse Ring
The only ring which applies poison on hit (6% chance).
Together with the Samhain Offering Necklace the player hast +7% chance to gain a bit of health instead of dying.
Grumpkin
Food from Grumpkin provide a mining damage increase.

Christmas Seasonal Event

SummaryThe four changed enemies (Big Larva, Caveling Miner, Caveling Shaman, Caveling Brute) drop snowballs and a special currency.

You can craft a Seasonal Calendar at the Carpenters Table. Placing it in a proper room will let the NPC move in. You can exchange the special currency at the NPC for a special workbench, a chest with a special design and a special crafting station.

With the latter you can craft two types of lootbags from food. The type depends on the rarity f the food.

Golden Chocolate
[Food] Provides +28 permanent max health (single use).
+5% less food drain when running
Hot Punch
[Food] Increases melee and ranged attack speed by 36% for 30 sec.
Festive Head
The only helmet with passive healing (+0.2 health per second).
Gingerbreadman Head
The only helmet with less food drain when running (+4%).
Gingerbread Top
The only chestplate with food drain when running (+4%).
Gingerbread Pants
The only pants with less food drain when running (+4%).
