This is the location where I found it. When it spawned I was trying to get “Stepping on Snow, Leaving no Traces”. After I bought all his upgrades, I went to the red soul merchant and bought a buff. When I began heading to the next level I noticed the log had spawned. It’s didn’t notice the story entry spawning when I bought all Mo Wentian’s (his name is revealed in the entry) buffs, but it’s also possible I broke a box when dashing to the next level and that caused the story entry to spawn. I also have the skin for Mo unlocked, which might be a requirement for the story entry to spawn.
To start a normal game in the DLC just head through the main door, do not talk with the sword. Difficulty is always White Ash.
