There are several endings that you can unlock in the game and one of these endings in the True Pacifist Ending. If you’re wondering how to get this ending, this guide is for you. Here, we will be covering the complete details on how to unlock the True Pacifist Ending in Undertale.

True Pacifist Ending Guide

This is like the special and happiest ending in the game Undertale. When you finish the Neutral Route, there’s a call after the credits that drops a clue about what you need to do for the True Pacifist Ending. If you spare Flowey, he talks more about the clue. But if you kill him, the game goes back to the title screen. You can fix things by reloading your save file unless you earned EXP/LOVE; then you have to start the game over.

It’s important to know that even if you kill Asgore or Flowey, you don’t get EXP. Plus, you can’t save after fighting them anyway. So, that’s the deal with how the game wraps up.

Requirements

In the game, don’t defeat any enemies or gain EXP/LV. Use non-lethal actions like sparing, fleeing, or using battle-ending ACTs. Fighting monsters or the Dummy in the Ruins won’t end this route, as they don’t give EXP. If you accidentally kill a monster, reload your save.

After battling Papyrus, visit his house and have a date/hangout with him. When Undyne faints from chasing you, get water from a nearby cooler and pour it on her. Head to Waterfall, go to Undyne’s house, and talk to Papyrus outside. Enter the house, do a “cooking lesson” and a faux battle with Undyne.

Progress through Hotland and the CORE. In Mettaton EX’s fight, raise ratings to 10,000 (use Alphys’s phone upgrade to shoot his heart). This will end the battle peacefully.

First, achieve the Flawed Pacifist ending. Trigger the next events by playing the game normally after a Neutral Route or reloading the final save of a Neutral Route.

Go back to the CORE toward MTT Resort. Undyne will call, asking to deliver a letter. Talk to her outside Papyrus’s house to get Undyne’s Letter. If you didn’t finish the “date” with Undyne, backtrack and complete it; she’ll give you the letter afterward.

Place the letter under Alphys’s Lab door and finish the “date” with her. After leaving the Garbage Dump, Papyrus calls, instructing you to meet Alphys at her lab. Return to Alphys’s Lab to find a note leading to her “bathroom,” which contains the True Lab. Once in the True Lab, the True Pacifist Route cannot be aborted.

Find four keys in the True Lab and put them in their slots to open the generator room. Turn on the generator, talk to Alphys, then go back to the elevator near the generator to be warped to New Home. Vines block the exit, signaling the True Pacifist Ending. You can’t leave New Home after this.

Completing Friendships

If you haven’t become friends with Papyrus, go back to his house in Snowdin. He’ll be outside. Interact with him to start the date/hangout.

If Undyne hasn’t been befriended, return to her house in Waterfall. Papyrus will be waiting outside. Interact with Papyrus to initiate the hangout with Undyne.

Befriending Alphys

When you reach the entrance to the CORE, Undyne will give you a call (following Papyrus’s suggestion) to request you to deliver her letter to Alphys. If you befriended Undyne in the Neutral-Pacifist Route, she will give you the letter right after becoming friends with her.

Epilogue

As Frisk journeys through the Underground, they can interact with various NPCs, including monsters encountered only during battles. These creatures share their emotions, often expressing their joy at finally being free. In the initial area adorned with golden flowers, Frisk can find Asriel tending to the blooms, and they have the option to engage in conversation with him.

True Reset

When you reopen the game following the True Pacifist ending, Frisk’s friends are absent from the menu, having all departed. You can load your SAVE from before the ending, initiating the possibility to replay the credits. The reset option on the menu is substituted with ‘True Reset,’ providing the opportunity to rename the Fallen Human. Opting for a name triggers a game reset, wiping the memories of everyone, including Frisk and Flowey.

Conclusion

Now that you reached the end of this guide, we’re assuming that you have already unlocked this ending. As mentioned earlier, Undertale features several ending. Apart from the True Pacifist, we also have the ending called Genocide. For those who want to get this ending, check out our Undertale Genocide Ending Guide.
