Another useful guide and facts that helps you in your hunting experience. This will show you facts and tips about your flashlight in theHunter : CallOfTheWild. Please read them carefully and make sure you’re not skipping any of them.

Flashlights are very important to lighten up your surrounding at the night. There are also night vision binoculars in this game, I will explain it in the bonus.

To turn on your flashlight, simply press L on your keyboard. Doesn’t work? Try going to your keyboard settings in-game and check the bind, it is normally bound with L.

Before Shining Your Flashlight in the Night

After Shining Your Flashlight in the Night

So as you can see, it only lightens up your front with a circle shape light.

Question: What time is the screenshot in?
Answer: It is taken at 9:00 PM in the night in-game.

Well but… The night without a flashlight is not as dark in real life because my computer brightness is puffed up and this game uses HDR lightning which lightens up your world when the light input to your eyes is low.

Will it scare animals if you shine your flashlight right in front of their face?

No, it would NOT. Just slooooowly approach them while they’re sleeping in the night with your flashlight on. There is no effect of flashlights linked with animal scare. Well but the thing that they will be scared of is your dirty foot’s noise.

Will it improve your visibility?

No for that question too. There is no effect of the flashlight on better visibility at night. It only lightens up for your own eyes to make it easier to look at night. If you want to improve your visibility and night, there are some upgrades that you can get with perks and skills.

Bonus!

There is a DLC for night vision binoculars. You could get it here.

Well for 2 dollars! I don’t know if it is worth it because I haven’t got it but you could try it if you want! There are also these items included in this DLC:

  • Koter CB-65 Bow
  • Brightsight Rangefinder Bow Sight & Tracer Arrows

It does improve visibility anyways.
