This is a general game guide for The Witch & the 66 Mushrooms. Gameplay tips, certain mushroom guides, and directions for certain parts.
General Tips
First, some quick tips you should be aware:
- The crow on the witch’s house at the beginning will give you where to go next, if you are ever stuck.
- Pressing down + B (Circle in PS controller) will heal you at the cost of 4 gold per heart (1/4 of heart is a point)
- You can upgrade your weapons in the item menu at the cost of a crystal. You can find them in the world and by showing Rapunzel (girl that asks you to show her rare mushrooms) a complete mushroom section.
- A potion is like an extra life, it will keep you from dying and recover 2 full hearts next time you would die. You can buy another one later in the game for 300 gold.
- Fully upgraded weapons have a bonus:
- Dagger – After hitting an enemy they bounce up and may hit them again.

- Sword – Deals 3 hits before upwards strike

- Scythe – Adds a ranged projectile to swipe (deals the same damage as the scythe and is counted independently, meaning you can hit twice per scythe strike).

- Bow – Sends 3 arrows.

- Hammer – When it hits the floor sends out 3 spikes from the ground forward.
Mushrooms

Very important tip!
Most mushrooms don’t count stepping if you are in cat form.
Rug mushroom
This mushroom is at the very beginning but needs (?) the cat form to complete. You just need to step onto this rug tile ledge, enter cat form, then walk to the witch’s house and exit cat form.
Scarab
If you are stuck searching for the scarab, it is in this location:
Bremen’s Pit
Near the cauldron, you can see a pyramid-like structure with animals increasing in size. Enter the cat form and stand in the spot between the dog and chicken.
