Introduction

The horses of Skyrim are hardy and strong, and taming them requires grit and patience. Use a hostler’s map to find these animals in the wild and mount them, and try not to get bucked! Once tamed, you can register them at the nearest stable and customize their saddles, as well as the saddles of any other horse you own. You may even find the rare unicorn brought back from dead, to right a wrong of the past. (Quest to find a unicorn, “Creature of Legend,” can be found by reading Soran’s Journal at the Arcanaeum. A map to other horses may be purchased at any hostler.) – Official Creation Club Description

The Wild Horses Creation adds 7 unique wild horses and a unicorn for you to tame in Skyrim, as well as new saddles for your horse.

Getting Started

You have to buy a map of wild horses from one of the stablemaster in skyrim to be able to find the wild horses.

Taming

To use a horse you have to first tame it. This can be done by riding the horse and moving, until you are thrown of. Repeat until tamed. Optional, tamed horses can be renamed at as stablemaster, witch will give them a random name. Once tamed, horses will stay tamed, When using another horse, the horse will be found at its original location. Note: The unicorn will go to the College of Winterhold instead. All horses added by this creation are invulnerable.

Dappled Brown Horse

From the Solitude Sawmill head south across the river. The horse can be found southwest, next to a dragon mound.

White Spotted Horse

This horse can be found west of Stony Creek Cave.

Red Horse

This Horse can be found northwest of the Whiterun Stables near the remains of a mammoth skull.

Pale Mare

This horse can be found south of Yngol Barrow.

Grey Spotted Horse

This Horse can be found north of Salvius Farm near Markarth.

Black Horse

This Horse can be found south of Evergreen Grove west of Falkreath.

Chestnut Horse

From the Helgen map marker head west along the road like seen in the picture below.

From there head northeast to find the Horse.

Unicorn

The Unicorn has its separate quest that can be started by reading Soran’s Journal on the counter in the Arcanaeum. Note: The unicorn only appears after you started the quest. Then follow the questmarker to a small pond near Lost Prospect Mine. Like any other wild horse the unicorn has to be tamed. Note: Unlike the other wild horses, the unicorn doesn’t return to its original location if you mount a different horse. Instead it will be found at the College of Winterhold.

Saddles

5 different saddles can be equipped or removed at any stablemaster in skyrim. The horse keeps the saddle even when it returns to its original location. Note: To use the Dark Brotherhood saddle you have to progress far enough in the corresponding questline.
