- Patch Title: Playtest v2 – Phase 1
- Patch Release Date: April 16, 2024
The developer of Subspace Discovery Playtest has released a new update for the game on April 16, 2024. Here are the new things that you should expect to see or change on this new update. This information was curated directly from the official announcement on Steam.
The New Shipyard, Techtree, and Class system, among other features, will soon go live. We invite you to help test this version, which uses a copy of last week’s live database.
What to Expect
- You will find yourself back in your Lifepod.
- Any old v1 ships will be recycled, and you’ll receive full compensation.
- Technologies will transfer automatically to the new techtree, and remaining Technology Blueprints will be converted to experience points and the new Datacores.
- The new Shipyard is now the default way to play, with no traces of the old system remaining.
Phase 1
We are testing the transition to the new V2 system to ensure flawless functionality. Microtransactions can be tested and will last only days (instead of months). All purchases are simulated and require no actual payments.
Phase 2
In the coming days, the test server will be fully reset, allowing you to start from scratch as a new player. Our goal is to ensure that the new system works equally well for new players and that the balancing feels right.
Once both phases are completed and polished, the final version will go live, marking the conclusion of the first roadmap update and paving the way for future content and changes.
