In Starfield, each Faction like the United Colonies, Freestar Rangers, Crimson Fleet, and Constellation, has its own set of Mission Boards tailored to their specific interests. These boards focus on missions related to each faction’s unique concerns and goals.
General Mission Boards in Starfield offer a diverse range of missions. These can include tasks like transporting people and goods, confronting threats from groups like the Crimson Fleet or Spacers, or facilitating the supply of resources to remote locations through Cargo Links established at your Outposts.

In many peaceful Outposts like Science Outposts or Industrial Outposts, you won’t find a Mission Board if there are no civilians around. Sometimes these Outposts skip having a Mission Board altogether. But if they do have one, you might spot it either outside the habitats or tucked away inside one of them.
Mission Boards tend to operate on a system-wide level. That means if you check out the one at Cydonia, you’ll likely see the same missions available as the one at Deimos Staryard or New Homestead. Similarly, if you establish a Mission Board at an outpost within the Settled Systems, it’ll probably offer missions similar to those at other established locations within that system. However, if you’re after faction-specific tasks, you’ll typically only find them on Faction-specific boards. Although, due to the randomness of mission generation, there might be some exceptions to this rule.
