The (somewhat) Long awaited continuation of the Getting Shirty guide, this is a comprehensive list of every tailoring item, what it looks like, if it can be dyed, and what to tailor it with – broken down into easy-to-digest list forms!

Getting Ready To Sew

Hello! Are you ready to begin your tailoring journey? Well then, let’s get to it! First, you’ll need three things:

  • A sewing machine: You can find one for use in Emily’s house (second from the left in Pelican Town) once you’ve acquired at least one cloth, or alternatively you can get your own from completing the “Rock Rejuvenation” Job at the special board, available starting Fall 2, Year 1
  • Cloth: This one can be a bit of a pain at the beginning, but isn’t too bad to come across. In order to get cloth you need to either make it from wool, buy it from the travelling cart or acquire it from recycling/enemies. You can get wool from Rabbits or Sheep, requiring a max level Coop or Barn respectively. Once obtained, you can spin it into cloth on a loom, with qualities above normal having a chance to produce an additional bolt of cloth, up to 50% at Iridium! Newspapers can be recycled for cloth, rarely, and Mummies in the Skull Caverns also drop cloth somewhat often. You can also get it from the aforementioned travelling cart and as a gift from Emily, but this is pretty rare so i’d stick to one of the earlier options personally.
  • A Material: This is the reason this guide is created to help you with. A massive number of Stardew’s individual items can be used in tailoring, and with this list, you can know exactly what those items are and also see the finished product beforehand! This makes life easier for collectors (like me) and also simplify some of the process for people who want a specific look.

The guide will be largely broken into categories, with each section dedicated a sub type of materials for easier browsing. Everything will be show along with their material cost, and whether or not it can be Dyed! With that being said, onward to Sewing!
