The developer of Smells Like Burnt Rubber has released a new update for the game on April 3, 2024. Here are the new things that you should expect to see or change on this new update. This information was curated directly from the official announcement on Steam.
What has changed?
As promised, a smaller update with some improvements, before the local challenges release will come.
New PowerUp
There is a new PowerUp: Sleepy.
The players on top positions become sleepy 😴 and their control input is time delayed…
May need to tweak here a little bit more. Let me know what you think.
Camera Zoom
As the community members “NeedForMadnessAuto” and “Ravenousld3341” suggested, I added a camera zoom option.
So in the settings you can now zoom closer to your car.

Improvements
- New PowerUp: Sleepy
- Camera Zoom option in the settings
- End of PowerUp will give a rumble and audio feedback to the player (so you know, that you can collect a new one)
- Reworked the On-Screen Keyboard
Bug Fixes
- UI: Changing the languages while in the tutorial, was not switching the already displayed text to the new language
- UI: PowerUp background is sometimes too big
- Settings Dialog: You couldn’t navigate the language tab with gamepad or keyboard (only mouse)
- Grand Prix scene: Hitting ready to fast after the scene was loaded, was not triggering “player ready”
- Various minor UI fixes
