Red’s Kingdom 100% Achievement and Collectibles Guide

Achievements

Achievements are simple enough. Two playthroughs:

• 1st Playthrough: Don’t die. Collect everything in every area, including the post game areas.
• 2nd Playthrough: Complete the game in under 90 minutes. Don’t die if you missed it in the 1st playthrough.

Get the medallion

This unlocks early in the game after freeing the prisoner in Ash Hill Dungeon.

Get the Wing Suit

This unlocks about halfway through the game after talking to the professor in Albakerk.

Get the Glowing Mushroom

This unlocks part way into Knockfin Hollows after passing the castle gates.

Complete Game

You’ve completed the game.

This unlocks after clearing Castle Grey.

Get 100% Progress

Collect everything (nuts, hearts, items) and finish the game.

Complete Game without dying

Easier than it sounds. You can simply reset the room whenever you take damage to recover any lost health. Get used to the timing for critical hits to avoid taking damage when attacking enemies.

Complete game under 90 minutes

This needs to be done on a second playthrough.

You only need to finish up to (and including) Castle Grey within the time limit.

90 minutes is fairly generous, I finished in 1:11 without any practice. Aim to open the gem gates at around the 0:30-0:40 mark and the castle gates no later than 1:20. Though Castle Grey can be done in under 10 minutes if memorised.

Nuts are the general collectible available in every room. There are 1249 nuts in total.

Have 5 Hearts

Have 8 Hearts

There are 12 Hearts in a Bottle to find. 3 Hearts in a Bottle gives one extra heart. You start with 4 hearts, plus 4 from bottles equals 8 hearts total. The post game stuff added 6 more bottles which I assume counts for this as well, but you’ll need all the bottles for 100% anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Collectibles are items in chests that serve no extra purpose. In total there are 8 items and 6 letters which count as collectibles. This achievement only counts collectibles found in the main game.

I cover most collectibles chronologically below.

I don’t cover Nuts because they’re not particularly hidden and there’s a counter on the map to see each area’s totals.

I also don’t cover recovery hearts as they don’t count towards the progress percentage.

I also don’t provide images for items that are part of the story. They’re just there so it might be easier to track.

Game Start

Note: North is the top left corner of the screen.

Old Letter (Dearest Rose)

From your house, head east to the screen with the stone bridge. Leave through the secret exit by the river to a chest.

Royal Decree

Continue along until the second last screen before Ash Hill Lair. It’s one of a stone bridge. Go south down the hidden path to a chest.

Ash Hill Key

Required for story progression. It’s in a chest on the screen after pressing the first button. Remember this location as there’s a yellow exit that you’ll need to come back for later.

Medallion

Required for story progression. You receive after freeing the prisoner on the last screen.

Heart in a Bottle #1

Requires Medallion. On the third screen with two bridges, break the jar and exit east to a chest.

Red Order Insignia

Requires Medallion. On the screen before the one with the exit to Ash Hill Dungeon, go through the south exit. Break the jar to open the path and reach a chest after a few more rooms.

Heart in a Bottle #2

Use the teleporter in Ash Hill Lair (or any) to teleport to your house. Go up the stairs to find a chest.

Gem Hunting

Empty Vial

From the first screen, there’s a dock to the west. There’s a chest on the same screen.

House Key

Required for story progression. On the southwestern parn of this area is the key out in the open behind a tree. It’s hard to miss.

Heart in a Bottle #3

There are stairs leading up to the west end of the stone bridge. Behind the stairs is a secret exit. Solve the room for a chest.

Letter (Rose)

Head south from the screen with the exit to Mòr Daraich. Continue in a southern direction and you’ll eventually reach the third room. Head south once more to a chest.

Green Gem

Required for story progression. In the final screen of this area.

Supply List (F.A.O Lord Augustus)

One screen north from the entrance is a secret exit leading to a chest. It’s near the northern exit of this screen.

Wanted

Work your way around to the screen east of the one with the teleporter (it can’t be reached directly). There’s a chest on this screen.

Blue Gem

Required for story progression. In the final screen of this area.

Grimwrath Key

Required for story progression. Exit east from the second screen to find a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #4

Loop around to the screen east of the one with the Grimwrath Key. In the middle of the lava in this room is a chest.

Diary Entry (Day 355)

Exit down the stairs in the first screen with Push Block Button. Directly in front is a chest.

Red Gem

Required for story progression. In the final screen of this area.

Despatch (Molach)

Head north from the screen with the teleporter and a chest is right in front of you.

Wing Suit

Required for story progression. Given to you by the professor.

Optional Areas

With the Wing Suit, there’s a bunch of stuff you can do in the previous areas.

Heart in a Bottle #5

From the teleport outside the gem gate, go west twice and south once. Fly across the gap to a chest.

This optional area is accessed from the yellow exit in Ash Hill Lair. It leads to the southern part of Albakerk. Currently, only all the nuts can be collected.

Grass Crown

At the exit of North Rubrum Grove leading into Albakerk is a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #6

One screen east of the entrance to Albakerk is a Wing Suit exit leading to a chest.

This optional area can be accessed from the yellow exits in Albakerk or Grimwrath Castle.

Bat

There’s a chest in the Grimwrath Castle entrance.

Medallion Halves

There are two entrances to Balgan Hollow: one in Grimwrath Castle, and one in Mòr Daraich. You’ll need to explore both to collect all Nuts.

Heart of Oak Medal

Two screens east of where the two entrance paths converge is a chest. The two entrance paths converge in a room with grass and a ramp flying over the water.

Court Verdict

From the entrance, take the upper exit first and flip the lever to lower a pillar. Then the other exit and north one screen to a chest.

Glowing Mushroom

Required for story progression. South then west from the entrance to the castle.

Heart in a Bottle #7

Work your way through the are until you reach a screen that has two tyres and the exit goes down some stairs. In the east is a secret exit leading to a chest.

Medallion Half

Required for story progression. South from the screen just before the exit to Ben Daraich Den.

Journal Entry (Day 12)

There’s a room on the west side of the area with a ramp flying over a spike pit to a Wing Suit exit. Fly over and east another screen to a chest.

Medallion Half

Required for story progression. Work your way to the north east corner and jump over the acid pit with the Spitting Plant.

Heart in a Bottle #8

From the acid pit you jumped over above, go south two screens to another Spitting Plant. Use it to reach a chest in the east.

Cleaning Up

With the Glowing Mushroom, now’s the time to collect everything before going to Castle Grey.

Half way through the area is a Spitting Plant. Use it to reach a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #10

One screen west of the southern teleport is a Spitting Plant. Use it to reach a chest.

Balgan Key

Return to the room where the two entrance paths converge. Fly over the water to a Spitting Plant. Go through two more rooms to a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #11

Again from where the two entrance paths converge, go east, south, east, east, and north to a locked chest.

Heart in a Bottle #12

From the teleport outside Grimwrath Castle, use the Spitting Plants to travel west go down the stairs to find a chest.

Castle Grey

Castle Grey Key

Required for story progression. Find it two screens north of the room with the Push Block.

Golden Nut

Given automatically after finishing the game.

Crown

Given automatically after finishing the game.

Solas Cala Map

Given automatically upon arriving at the docks.

Heart in a Bottle #13

From the southern Solas Cala Beach teleporter go one screen north. There is a secret exit to the west with a chest. If the blue blocks are not raised when you enter, you need to flip the lever on another screen first (e.g. west of teleporter) and then come back.

Ship’s Log (…I fear)

From the southern Solas Cala Beach teleporter go east along the beach three screens until one with just a red and blue block. North is a chest.

Sionn Vaults Key

Required for progression. Keep heading north from the start and you’ll reach it.

Eagal Island Map

From the northern Solas Cala Beach teleporter go east twice and south three times to a screen with lots of red and blue blocks. There’s a secret exit to the west. Head through and follow the nuts to a chest.

Holy Key

Required for progression. This area is linear and you’ll see it out in the open in a small room.

Broken Compass

After getting the Holy Key, return to the previous screen and go west out onto the small balcony with a chest.

Golden Nut

Required for progression. Found at the end of Sionn Vaults.

Solas Oracle

After getting the Golden Nut backtrack three rooms and go north to a previously unaccessible room with a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #14

From the entrance follow the green exits to the last screen to find a chest.

Message In A Bottle (Help!)

In the fourth screen, climb on the blue blocks to a secret exit going north. On the next screen is a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #15

There’s another secret exit going north from the previous one. A chest is there.

Rath Ennis Map

Given automatically after picking up the Golden Nut in Sionn Vaults.

Tin Can

Enter the first house up the stairs from the teleport. Downstairs is a chest.

Portrait of Redbeard

Enter the house in the southeast corner. Defeat the enemy inside with the arrow trap and open a chest.

House Key

Required for progression. Outside the northeast house is a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #16

Enter the house next door to the one with the blocked front door. Inside is a chest.

Golden Nut Casino Chip

There are two houses on the east side. The upper one has a chest inside.

Rotten Fish Head

There are two houses on the east side. Enter the lower one and go upstairs for a chest.

Rath Crom Map

Required for progression. Follow linear path to end up in the blocked house. Inside is a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #17

East on the second screen is a secret exit. It leads directly to a chest.

Heart in a Bottle #18

Go south in the third screen before going upstairs to find a chest.
