Don´t know what to wear on your head? Find the right hat here in this guide.

Spoiler alert: If you haven´t finished the story yet you might want to NOT check out this guide.

Choices

To make your character look more remarkable and distinctive there is now a variety of different hats, heads, and helmets in the game and you can choose the right one just for you.
If you manage to get your hands on it, of course.

Hats at Trading Post

You can buy the following super awesome hats and glasses at the new Trading Posts on the big islands.

Each one of these hats or glasses costs 6 Trash Cube and 6 Trade Coins.

You need to have Tier 2 in the trading post to buy

Chef’s Hat

Disguise Glasses

Sailor Hat

And you need to have Tier 3 for those:

Diving Helmet

Fishing Hat

Sunglasses

Pirate Hat

So, let´s go ahead and buy some purely cosmetic stuff instead of actually useful things like a titanium maybe?

Story-Related Hats

If you follow the storyline in Raft you should find these two:

Mayors Hat

Can be found at the Mayor’s Office at Caravan Town- it´s hard to miss that one.

Construction Helmet

Can be found at Varuna Point – where else would you find one if not on a huge although abandoned construction site?

Blueprint-Required Hats

You also (hopefully) find these blueprints by following the storyline. These are not purely cosmetic items, the Head Lights actually give you light. But be careful and take them off if you don´t need them, they will break eventually.

At the Radio Tower, you can find the blueprint for the Head Light

And at Varuna Point you´ll find the blueprint for Advanced Head Light

And remember, even if this makes no sense: You can use empty batteries to make both Helmet Lights.

Kill-Required Hats

If you kill an enemy animal you usually get a head during harvesting. You can put the heads on a trophy board to show everyone who’s the Boss. Or put the heads in your Biofuel Refiner and make some biofuel – nothing to waste in a survival situation, right?

But, if you don’t mind the smell you can use these heads as hats as well.

Fish Heads:

Shark Head

Poison-Puffer-Fish Head

Anglerfish Head

This one is actually useful, if you don´t mind the spiky teeth pocking in your face, the head gives you a little light in the dark, just like the Head Lights but not as bright.

Bird Heads:

Screecher Head

White Screecer Head

Much easier to kill than his big brother, but it can only be found at Caravan Town.

Mammal Heads:

Warthog Head

Hyena Head

Alpha Head

The Alpha does not respawn so make sure to harvest it properly to get the head after you managed to kill it.

Not sure if all the green glowing stuff is healthy, but it looks very cool, right?

Polar Bear Head

Bear Head

Mama Bear Head

Mama Bear does not respawn so make sure to harvest her properly to get the head after you managed to kill her.

Grind-Related Hats

If there is a small tropical island, there is only a 2% change that either the Shipwreck or the Plan Crash Island spawns – and that’s the only island where you can find the following awesome hats:

Captain’s Hat on the Shipwreck Island

Pilot Helmet on the Plane Crash Island

So, if you spot a small tropical island, that looks a little bit different than the others – make sure to check it out.

And the last one is the mysterious Tiki Mask

You need to do some Treasure Hunting with your Metal Detector and your Shovel and find 4 different Tiki Pieces. Which will take a long, really long time. Then you need to work some magic to create the mask, but I am not going to ruin the magic and tell you how…
