A small guide on how to get the achievement The Art of Provocation for Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous.

The Art of Provocation DLC 2 Conquista

As of making this guide finding info on achievements is pretty scattered for all the DLC. Since I found it pretty annoying to find info on this one and it is a MISSABLE achievement so I decided to make a guide for it.

The requirement for this achievement isn’t immediately obvious with a description of
“You tricked someone into killing the slimy colossus for you.”

You would believe this would involve dialogue with some sort of check, in fact there was no skill check whatsoever, considering what kind of game this is. Unfortunately though, since it’s dlc, you would need to think outside the CRPG box since what you’re actually doing is rerouting a predetermined path for a particular enemy.

Before I get into the whole thing;

Considering where you would be getting this achievement the location is a spoiler, though I feel it’s quite a minor spoiler.

This is how I got the achievement on patch 2.0.6k.

Getting The Achievements

You can get this achievement in the Graveyard area during the quest “Earth’s Embrace”. This is a missable achievement though there is another same Slime in the Rich Quarter, the final area, I could not find anyway to redirect the monster in a similar way. For now this might be the only way to get this achievement unless someone provides a method to get the achievement in the RIch Quarter.

The Steps

The most important thing is to avoid detection from the Green Slime(Gelatinous Monument), this is how I accomplished it anyway. If you start combat with that particular Slime at any time I would suggest restarting from a save point.

Getting the achievement doesn’t involve any dialogue or skill checks, I played on story mode so maybe there’s skill checks on higher diffs, your goal is just block the Slime’s path so it goes east towards a group of Skeleton fighters and archers.

The first Pillar to block it’s path is near the tower like structure beside a large group of zombies, obviously avoid the zombies.

OBSERVAÇÃO: I haven’t tested it, but you might need to make sure the Slime is not on the side of the tower once the Pillar is triggered. The screen does go black to reflect the change so maybe it automatically moves the Slime to the proper position. I don’t have the patience to test this sorry.

The second Pillar can’t be activated until the first Pillar is triggered. The second Pillar is located next the Monument that creates a shortcut to the first camp. There’s gonna be a lesser slime here so you will have to deal with it without alerting the big boy. If you’re successful in triggering both Pillars without being detected by the Gelatinous Monument then I would suggest quick saving it.

Now that both PIllars are down follow the center path, between both the Pillars, but careful not to alert the Slime. Follow behind it until it starts to clash with the group of Skeletons upon which you should receive the achievement “The Art of Provocation” even though you aren’t exactly provoking anything. Legal.
