Are you getting some FPS and lagging issues when your mods are active while playing PAYDAY 3? Well, there’s a quick fix to address that problem. In this guide, we will show you how to fix the lagging issues when modes are enabled in Payday 3.
What We Know So Far
If you’re already using mods then you’re probably facing a huge lag when playing followed by audio not playing or loading taking 3x longer.
This happens because PD3 requires you to add “-fileopenlog” to your game start options for you to be able to play with mods, but this configuration causes performance issues. Some players says to have fixed it by installing the game on a SSD, but since not everyone has one we need a workaround for it
How to Fix Lagging Issue
The first thing you need to do is remove the -fileopenlog command from the startup console command. Unfortunately, this has been causing this problem.
Next, download the PD3 UE4SS / Allow Pak Mods from this link.
After downloading, install the downloaded mod on your computer. To do this, go to your PAYDAY 3 installation directory.
You can also right-click PAYDAY 3 on your Steam library to find the installation folder of the game.
Once inside the directory folder, go to this directory and extract the files that you have downloaded from the link mentioned above.
PAYDAY3\Binaries\Win64

While you’re still in the game directory, open the Mods folder and open the mods.txt file.
Search for the text line that says “AllowModsMod” and change the value from 0 to 1. Check the sample image below for reference:
Personal note: I’ve set all other mods in my .txt file to 0 and so far I haven’t got any issues in-game.
If you have any issues try setting everything to 0 except for “Keybinds” and “AllowModsMod”.
And that’s it! You’re now ready to play PAYDAY 3 without any lagging and FPS issues while mods are active.
To install mods (if this is your first time installing any) head to “PAYDAY3\Content\Paks” and create a folder named “~mods”. Then once you download your mods simply extract the .pak file inside it and you’re done.
