This manual is for folks who want to use their explosives in the smartest way possible. At times, the easiest choices are the greatest ones. Maybe you need to make some room for yourself and your team. Perhaps you’re in the mood to make a whole SWAT van full of helmets soar into the sky in a dazzling manner. I understand. This guide is here to assist you with all those situations

Weapons of Choice

Just to be crystal clear, these are the tools you want.

Toss the grenade, and it explodes. Keep it a bit longer, and it explodes faster. It’s a tale as old as time.

A single grenade from this powerful device is sufficient to take out an entire squad of cops. You have six of them. Do the math.

Skill Lineup

The skill system gives you a handy set of abilities, but the star of the show is this specific row, aptly named DEMOLITIONIST.

You obviously need the basic skill for everything else to function, and it comes with a fantastic bonus:

Explosions caused by your shots or throwables have their area of effect increased by 20%.

No one likes waiting, so for that instant satisfaction, equip the OVERCOOKED skill.

Any throwable or weapon with an explosive component will no longer wait on a timer but will immediately explode upon hitting the environment or an NPC.

Another crucial skill is called COOKER.

Whenever you hold a throwable for at least 1.5 seconds before tossing it, you gain GRIT.

This is crucial because we’ll pair it with a skill vital to your survival.

I’m talking about the BLAST SHIELD, of course.

Available GRIT is used to negate any damage you’d normally get from explosions caused by you.

You can probably guess where this is going, but just in case, let me explain.

The explosives in this game have insane range and damage values for self-harm. One grenade can take a hefty chunk of your armor AND health. This skill combination helps you avoid getting your face blown off, albeit at the cost of slowing down the rain of fire and clouds of shrapnel.

Naturally, we want more explosive options, so definitely go for EXTRA MUNITIONS.

Your throwable capacity increases by 2. Pretty much self-explanatory.

Useful Extra Skills

The thrill of sending the police flying won’t last if you quickly run out of resources. So here are a couple of things to assist you with that.

FRUGAL THROWER

Throwables you use have a 20% chance to be refilled after they’re used up.

It’s like pure black magic; you just need to be lucky, believe in the heart of the cards, or pray to our Lord and Savior RNGesus.

SCROUNGER

If you have EDGE, ammo drops have a 10% chance of refilling one of your throwables.

This requires investing 2 points into Ammo Specialist, some free space in your ammo pocket, and one of the things mentioned above.

TOP UP

Interacting with any ammo bag will restore an additional 20% ammo and fully restock your throwables. It’s your last resort when all else fails, and you somehow run out of juice. Just make sure there’s actually an ammo bag to interact with.

Gameplay Loop

Explosives in this game are a total letdown, only good for two scenarios. Either you’re stuck in some weird place and need a quick way to get arrested, or you’re desperately trying to complete those grenade launcher kill challenges. So, instead of dealing with all those grenades and launchers, just toss them in the trash where they belong.

Now, follow this little lineup below (lockpicking skill optional) and start throwing those knives like it’s the zombie apocalypse and the SWAT teams are after your precious gray matter. Keep those extra throwables handy and ditch FRUGAL THROWER; it’s completely unnecessary.

This approach saves you a lot of trouble and armor/medic bags, gives you an unlimited one-hit kill utility weapon (if your aim is on point), and saves you more than one skill point to invest in something more useful than demolitionist.

Whether you love it or hate it, please spread the word about the superiority of throwing knives.
