This guide will show you how to make the My Time at Sandrock BepInEx Mods working on your Steam Deck.

How to Fix BepInEx Mods Errors on Steam Deck

  1. First things first, do everything on your computer in Desktop Mode. To get there, press the STEAM key, go down to “Power”, and select “Switch to Desktop”.
  2. Next, open up your web browser and go to the BepInEx Github. Download the file named “BepInEx_x64_5.4.22.0.zip”.
  3. Now, go back to Steam, find My Time at Sandrock, and click on the gear icon on the right side. Choose Manage > Browse Local Files.
  4. This is where you need to extract the zip file you just downloaded. Put everything into the main folder where the Sandrock.exe is located.
  5. If you need to find the folder manually, for Internal Storage, it’s “/Home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/My Time at Sandrock/”. For the SD Card, it’s “/run/media/mmcblk0p1/steamapps/common/My Time at Sandrock/”. Make sure “winhttp.dll” and “doorstop_config.ini” are in the same folder as “Sandrock.exe” for it to work.
  6. Back on Steam, click the gear icon again, and choose “Properties”. Under “General”, scroll down to “Launch Options” and type in: WINEDLLOVERRIDES=”winhttp=n,b” %command%. Exit “Properties” and run the game once.
  7. If everything is working, you should see some files generated under “BepInEx/config”. Once that’s done, you’re ready to go to the Nexus and install some mods.
  8. Most mods go into “BepInEx/plugins”, but please read the mod descriptions for their install instructions. Mod authors usually provide instructions in their descriptions or in a sticky post in the comments.

Here are a couple of extra tips for you:

  • If you want to use the DevConsole, make sure to bind F1 to one of your keys. Some people prefer using a back button for this. It’s useful if you plan on playing around with the deck’s controls to use the mod.
  • For Your Time at Sandrock, a similar situation applies with F4. However, you can also access the mod menu from the “Escape Menu” in the game. This gives you another way to interact with the mod features.
