This guide will show you how to easily unlock the newly added achievements in the latest My Friendly Neighborhood update called “The Neighborhorde” patch.

Neighborhorde Achievements

Neighborhorde Veteran
Unlocked all Neighborhorde stages.

There are 4 parts in the mode. To open a new part, simply get an S rank on all the levels that are open now.

Neighborhorde Family
Unlocked all Neighborhorde characters.

There are 4 heroes in the mode. To get a new hero, just earn an S rank with all the heroes that you have right now.

Final Mystery
Later is now.

This achievement has a bit more to it:

  1. To start, you have to get an S rank on all maps and characters. When you do this, you’ll unlock the “tape cutter.”
  2. Once you have the “tape cutter,” begin a new game on any difficulty. You’ll see the tape cutter in your inventory.
  3. Next, go to the hotel to find the stage 4 key. Use it to enter the room with the taped dress.

  1. Inside, you’ll discover a strange key. Return to the hotel, go upstairs to the “123 room,” and claim your reward.

Gameplay Tips

Neighborhorde is like a race against the clock. You’re in a survival mode where you need to score as many points as possible on a fixed map, but you have limited resources.

Each time you defeat a regular puppet, you earn 15 points and increase your multiplier by 1.

Sometimes, a big, tough puppet appears. It has a lot of health but the same hitbox as a normal puppet. When you defeat it, you get 150 points and another +1 to your multiplier.

You can also boost your multiplier by hitting specific targets around the map. Your multiplier can reach up to x25, but it will reset if you get hugged by an enemy or if you take too long to earn another +1 (even if it’s already at the maximum).

In each map, you’ll discover:

  • 6 vending machines where you can trade a single coin for various items:
    • A full Rolodexer magazine
    • A full Novelist magazine
    • One Punctuation
    • One Health-o-Lax
    • One Choco Zip dispenser
    • One Gray soda dispenser (makes you shoot faster)

There are also targets you can hit three times to gain more time:

  • The first hit gives you an extra 15 seconds.
  • The second hit grants you 30 seconds.
  • The third hit adds a whopping 60 seconds to your time. But keep in mind that these targets need some time to reload before you can hit them again.

You’ll come across random spawns of ammo and coins throughout the map. Additionally, puppets can drop items specific to your character, such as ammo for your owned weapons, coins, and health (although health drops are less common).

Basic Strategy

When you start the game, your first goal is to quickly locate ammo and coins. This way, you’ll have enough ammo to take down the initial puppets and eat at least 2 energy bars. Prioritizing energy bars is a smart move because being faster than the puppets in any situation is crucial and efficient for navigating the map.

Always keep a Health-o-Lax with you. It’s a good idea to avoid hitting the targets too frequently early in the game because later on, the pauses between raids will harm your multiplier.

Once you’ve gathered a sufficient number of coins, don’t hesitate to buy some gray soda and use them during the raids. With these strategies, you should be able to conquer any map with any character.

Characters Guide

Let’s talk about the characters in Neighborhorde:

Gordon

Gordon is a well-rounded character. He begins with a fully charged Rolodexer and a Novelist with 6 ammo. The Rolodexer is more efficient against single puppets or small groups, so use the Novelist sparingly, such as against big puppets or in mid to late game situations.

Junebug

Junebug is the easiest character to play. She wields the Conclusion with infinite ammo. To excel with her, start by buying some energy bars and gray soda right at the beginning, and you’ll find victory within reach.

Chimken

Chimken starts with 9 Punctuations, but playing him can be challenging due to backfire, smaller size, and limited ammo. When playing as Chimken, focus on getting more ammo to overcome these challenges.

Ricky

Ricky is a decent character, starting with an empty Rolodexer, a wrench, and 5 coins. His 5 coins provide a good head start. Unlike Gordon, Ricky doesn’t have a strong weapon, so consider purchasing either gray soda or Punctuations to improve your gameplay.

Maps Guide

Let’s take a look at the different maps in Neighborhorde:

Sound Stage

Sound Stage is a good choice for a first map. It offers a central area to maneuver around the puppets, with free ammo accessible through the pizza topping quest and some boxes. However, reaching Punctuation and Novelist ammo can be challenging without getting cornered. Pearl is present and can either be helpful or annoying by blocking puppets. Items can spawn anywhere on this map.

Office

The Office is a bit tougher than Sound Stage. The central area is smaller, and all the dispensers are located in dead ends. Goblet is also here, and you’ll need to interact with it to collect ammo. Most of the items spawn on the main desk or around it.

Hedge Maze

Hedge Maze is a challenging map. The central area is not ideal and is filled with obstacles. The dogs are stealthy and make little noise. Targets and dispensers are scattered throughout, but items mostly spawn on benches.

Pirate Cove

Pirate Cove is an easier map. You can move freely without many obstacles. You can undertake the Conclusion quest, but be aware it’s empty. There are also 5 coins in chests. Items mainly spawn offstage. Lastly, the targets are easy to hit from anywhere on this map.
