Idle Sand Castle – Quick Strategy Guide for Starters

Introduction

The name “Idle Sand Castle” might trick you because it suggests a laid-back game, but it’s not.

There’s nothing idle about it. You need to pay close attention to where you can achieve your goals.

The game has two main parts: above ground and underground.

• Above ground, you earn money from tourists taking photos.
• Underground, you get sand resources for the castles above.

Both areas have their own problems you need to think about.

Learn the basics

To start, figure out how the game works.

Underground, you have 2 workers gathering sand for you (100).

Above ground, you can construct a small sand castle for tourists to pay you.

You’ll need more sand, especially when bandits wreck your above-ground castle.

Here are some important steps:

• Workers: Begin with up to 30 workers, but soon you’ll see they’re not very useful.
• Sand Production: The main source of sand is autoclicking the “Dig” button for deeper levels (around 1M sand per level).
• Upgrades: With more sand and tourists, upgrade everything to the max. Security upgrades are crucial—they handle bandits, letting you focus on underground work.
• Medium Sand Castle: Once you can afford it, aim for the medium sand castle.

Finish All of the Underground Achievements

Once you have a medium castle, you can find a balance between security and bandits. This is the right time to dig deeper without interruptions.

There are 3 achievements you need to reach sooner or later:

• Wake up 1k workers
• Accumulate 50M of sand
• Dig as deep as 100 levels

With about 30 workers, you can dig 1 level down and then wake up all 30 by clicking the sleep symbol on the right. After 10 seconds, they will fall asleep again.

If you stick to this cycle, it will take 2-3 hours to complete all the underground goals.

Protect Your Castle at All Cost

The most challenging part of the game is surviving with your above-ground castle while actively fending off bandits.

Here are some tips:

• No Autoclicking: You can’t rely on autoclicking during this phase.
• Limited Security Reliability: Security is only helpful in emergencies, and it’s generally not very smart, like sandworms.
• Risk Management: Avoid the risk of building too high and losing everything.

Specific advice:

• Marking Bandits: Make sure to mark every bandit on both sides to make them visible to your security.
• Security Upgrades: Don’t bother upgrading individual security men; it doesn’t have additional effects.
• Castle Leveling: Only level up your sand castle by a maximum of 3 levels.
• Avoid Large Sand Castle: If you accidentally open the large sand castle, bandits become even more troublesome. Some of them require 3-4 electrocutions before they are chased away.

Capturing 1k bandits is achievable, but accumulating 50M gold is a long and challenging process. Let’s break down the calculation:

Example:

• Dug out 2M sand for a large castle.
• Upgrading the castle from level 15 to level 18 increases earnings to around 1.8k per tourist.
  • If the sand castle is destroyed from level 18 to 17, you can rebuild it; otherwise, level 17 yields 1.3k per tourist.
  • Level 16 provides 1k per tourist.
  • Level 15 gives nothing but allows you to dig calmly for more sand.

Another potential solution is using a script to left-click on both sides to capture each bandit before they reach the sand castle.
