This is a guide that will enable you to play the game online with way fewer hackers and modders.

Introduction

This guide will show you how to install a modified game launcher called FiveM.

FiveM is a modification for Grand Theft Auto V enabling you to play multiplayer on customized dedicated servers. Meaning you can avoid the poorly implemented Peer-To-Peer solution that GTA Online currently runs on.

FiveM has better anti-cheat, and cheat detection than GTA Online, meaning modding is much harder on FIveM than GTA Online, users that mod on FiveM will receive Hardware-ID bans, meaning that they have to buy new hardware to play again, which can become quite expensive.

Ban Risk?

Installing FiveM comes with absolutely ZERO ban risk. The launcher does not modify any game files in any way.

All files that FiveM uses are stored in a completely separate directory and do not modify the original files in any way, shape, or form.

You can play FiveM with an absolute peace of mind that you won’t be banned from GTA Online.

System Requirements

These are the System Requirements to run FiveM on your PC:

Minimum

  • CPU Intel Core 2 Q6600 @ 2.40GHz / AMD Phenom 9850 @ 2.5GHz
  • GPU NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB / Intel HD GT2
  • RAM 8GB (4 may work)
  • HDD 72GB + ~4GB

Recommended

  • CPU Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHz / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHz
  • GPU NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD 7870 2GB
  • RAM 16GB
  • HDD 72GB + 8GB

Installation Guide

Okay, so you’ve decided to go ahead with the install. Great!

  • Alright, first things first, head on over to the FiveM Website.
  • Find the Download Client button and download the FiveM client.
  • You will need to agree to the terms of service.
  • Now that you have downloaded the launcher, run it, and you will be greeted with this screen.
  • Go ahead and select “Yes” then wait for the download to complete.
  • Eventually, this Firewall pop-up will appear, (sometimes behind the window) be sure to hit Allow Access, to allow the Server Browser to function properly.
  • Once allowed, FiveM should open to this screen, go ahead and select “Play” to open the Server Browser where you can select from hundreds if not thousands of FiveM servers to play on.
