Gigantosaurus The Game – How to Backup and Restore Your Saves

Gigantosaurus does not implement cloud-based game save. Therefore, we refer you to this comprehensive manual to back up and recover your game data. It is important to note that Gigantosaurus does not store your save files in the cloud. Therefore, should you choose to install the game on a different personal computer, your precious save data will be irretrievably lost unless you meticulously follow the procedures outlined herein. I must emphasize that the instructions in this compendium are based on the latest version of Gigantosaurus available at the time of this writing, which is July 17, 2023.

What kind of data is in the saves?

• All of your in-game progress, including achievements such as eggs found, walnuts found, seeds collected, levels completed, and more.
• Acquirable items: Statues and Gigantopedia entries that are easily accessible from the main menu.

Backup Process

Step 1: Navigate to

C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Gigantosaurus\Saved\

Step 2: Copy the “SaveGames” folder, then paste in a separate location where you plan to store your game saves.

Having accomplished this, your game saves are now securely backed up, enabling you to proceed with the uninstallation of the game without concern.

Restoration Process

Warning: Performing these steps incorrectly may result in corruption or loss of your game data. I can assure you that these steps are quite specific, straightforward, and reliable (I have personally performed them many times with this game and others). However, please be aware that you take full responsibility for following these instructions at your own risk.

Step 1: First, make sure you have Gigantosaurus installed. If it is not already installed, proceed with the installation.

Step 2: Next, locate the “SaveGames” folder that you have previously backed up.

Step 3: Now paste the “SaveGames” folder into the following directory

C:\Users\<YourUserID>\AppData\Local\Gigantosaurus\Saved\

Note: When prompted, overwrite any existing data that was previously saved to this location.

Step 4: To verify that the transfer was successful, start the game and check your current progress and collectibles as described in the section titled “What kind of data is in my save files?

If everything checks out, the process is complete. You are now ready to continue playing the game.
