Dying Light Tips

Do not try to rush the missions, instead explore the map, kill many zombies as you can, find some loot, and do side quests. It will improve your skills in the game and it will make you confident on hard missions.

Here are some basic and advanced tips for you:

1. Avoid Combat

Although there is XP to be gained from fighting, it is not nearly enough to warrant fighting infected. You should focus more on the parkour aspects of the game – especially the grappling hook – while saving the durability of your weapon for threats that cannot be outrun.

2. Scavenge Materials

Materials are everywhere in Dying Light, so you should be looking at every opportunity you get. Whether that comes from a set of drawers or the trunk of a car, it really doesn’t matter.

Merchants also sell materials and it’s best to stock up on these as well. You will soon be brimming with blueprints to utilize on your many weapons, and, by having enough materials, you can maximize the efficiency and power of your weapons and gear early on in the game.

3. Keep To The Rooftops

Not only are rooftops great for getting out of a jam, but they’re also the best way to travel. Running and jumping across rooftops is the fastest and most efficient way to get to where the you need to go and can help them to avoid much-unwanted confrontations with the brisling infected streets.

4. Prioritize Airdrops

Sometimes, it isn’t worth it, as it could be swarmed with infected or hostile looters that beat the player there. However, the contents can be worth the risk. Inside the airdrops are essential materials and resources that can be used to craft better and more efficient gear. Not only this, but air drops also contain XP that you can use to progress further and become even stronger.

5. Fight The Night

Loot is a lot better at night, even if the world is a lot deadlier. The streets are louder, and the infected are angrier. Night Hunters will always be around to make sure the you don`t go home to sleep. However, dying does not negate XP, and so it’s worth the extra risk for the bonus XP and loot.

6. Go For Safe Houses

Claiming safe houses is a great source of Survivor points, and helps make your character level up early. Some safe houses are easier to reclaim than others, so it’s best to assess the situation before going in fists blazing.

7. Don’t Die

Dying Light has a unique punishment in store for players that die. XP is deducted, and how much depends on how exactly you died. It’s not a major deduction but is certainly something to keep in mind before going all-out in an infected war.

8. Complete Spike’s First Mission

After you have completed this mission, and after they sleep at the safe house, Co-Op will become available. There are many benefits to Co-Op. Not only can you adventure through Harran with other survivors, but you can also experience the entire journey with friends.
