I’ve found some hidden ability’s to the impact axe that I’m surprised more players have not been told. So I’m going to tell you them since they make driller one of the best environmental cleaners and ebonut harvesters. This ment to be a simple guide on what is able to be hit by a axe that’s not a bug.

Things to hit and take your axes back

Everything here will have your axes recoverable as long as you dont hit other things such as bugs or teammates for example. The ground and the targets shown will allow you to recover your axes. Fester Flees DO eat axes.

Ebonuts

This is one of the most annoying 2ndarys with them taking 3 normal pickaxe hits (2 with one of the buff beers) or a single power attack. The impact axe can 1 shot open a ebonut while leaving the axe recoverable.

Creeper vines

With a single hit the impact will cause them to be destroyed and like ebonuts require 3 normal pickaxe hits or a power attack to destroy.

Poison Spores Fungus

These by far one of the worst things to me that is natural hazard. Taking 2 hits and still leaving there cloud for a few seconds. They can take up entire rooms but the impact axe can clear entire swaves of them with 1 throw due to the electrical field doing damage to all the mushrooms nearby it while it’s flying through the air.

Cave Urchin

These guys are annoying and blend in with the floor. Everything regarding killing them is the same as the Poison spores.

Trapatactus

This requires you to hit it directly but other than that it’s goes down in 1 hit.

Ejector Cacti

Same as above, 1 direct hit and gone.

Elevator Plant

While they are more or less neutral they are huge and can block your line of sight or just block you. Now you will need more then 1 axe (like 6-8) but all of them are recoverable.

As for everything I have stated. This is all accurate to April 19th 2022 and I can personally confirm it’s accuracy. I can’t confirm that your axes will fall through the floor into the void but they will not be eaten unless you hit a bug or something.
