- Practice your aim with the machine gun.
- Try playing on the hardest level with all modifiers, but start by finishing the game with all weapons on the hardcore level with no modifiers first.
- Keep moving, double jump, and slide while shooting and using grenades/melee as much as you can. Move in big circles, and sometimes jump through groups of enemies to use melee.
- Melee is a great early game weapon, especially for small crabs. Use it whenever you can and choose health modifiers that boost melee.

- Spend all your crystals in the shop and don’t save them because of inflation. However, this doesn’t apply to unlocking slots in the nightmare challenge modifier – those should have the lowest priority.
- Avoid zooming in most situations. Train your aim, not gimmicks. Some players don’t even use a zoom button and do just fine. Use LMB to fire, RMB to melee, Mouse3 for grenades, Mouse4 to reload, Shift to slide, and Spacebar to jump.
- Shoot from the air to avoid some bad weapon effects, like spiral shots hitting the ground. Take advantage of jump platforms to stay in the air longer by spamming the spacebar.
- Don’t be afraid to play with just one health. Go for totems that reduce your health until the late game.
