I grew up with Pokemon and played competitive mode a lot so I can give some tips here since both games are similar (W.I.P)

Traits

The first and most important thing is to own Coromons with good traits such as Static Body, Lucky, Good Aim or Spiked Body among others. These traits offer you a huge advantage. Some are defensive traits, other ones offensive. Don’t go just there with your favorite Coromon without having a good trait first!

Note: the weather traits are also good

Movesets

Your moveset should be composed like this:
– A move (or two) of the same type as the Coromon (deals more damage)
– A status move (sleep, stun, + attack, + defense etc)
– A coverage move (I will explain this now)

– A coverage move is a move that is not related to your Coromon (same type) and serves as a counter against the Coromons is weak against. For example, Fire type is weak against Water right? so a good coverage move for a Fire type would be the move Bite, since water Coromons are weak against Dark (I call it Dark type but the real name is Foul). Remember that changing a Coromon for another one which is effective against your opponent will give a free turn to the other player. The coverage move give you the chance to inflict some damage instead of giving a free turn (better results if the Coromon have high SPEED).

Note: You can use Skill Flash items for coverage. Use them wisely
Note#2: The coverage move deals half of the damage because of the Coromon type

Stats / Potential Points

When leveling up your Coromons, make sure you boost the SPEED stat. It is really important. Don’t spend all the Potential points in SPEED though. Having a fast Coromon means you will attack first (unless the other Coromon has an attack like Fast Strike). You should also invest your Potential Points on the stats your Coromon is good at. For know that, go to Database and look for the base stats of the Coromon. If a Coromon is fast already, just spend the Points on their strengths and weaknesses. For example, Silquill is very fast and has a good attack but lacks in defense and special defense. Use one Point on DF and SD and the last one on attack.
