This guide has some basic tips to help with game problems or find ways around them. I’ll keep adding more tips as I discover new issues and solutions, either on my own or with help from others.
Snapping Issues and Horrible Zoning Problems
The Problem:
I really enjoy creating a simple grid pattern, you know, just like compensation for things. But sometimes, it’s really tough.
The grid tool doesn’t always do what I want, and snapping behaves oddly, with multiple options that don’t give a perfect result. Here are the problems I’ve faced:
The Solution:
It took me a while to figure this out, but with some assistance from a helpful Discord moderator named RebelSapph, I found a way to reduce the issues. You might need to redo some of your roads, or even start over, but give these settings a try:
Post Terraforming Water Issues
The Problem:
After you reshape the land to remove water and make space for building, the game sometimes doesn’t realize that the water is gone, and it still thinks you can’t construct there. Oddly enough, it does let you place water drains there because they’re supposed to go in water.
The Solution:
It seems like the game reloads water and its positions when you restart it. So, if you terraform water away, just save your game, exit to the desktop, then restart it, and the invisible water will be gone.
