Tips

Matching your buddy with your activities is key, especially in the middle or later stages of the game when more options are available. The Renowned Trait (Coco, Talon, or Zephyr) works wonders for expanding or securing territory. Talon, with the Inspiring Trait, is particularly valuable for battles, enhancing your colony fighters.

When it comes to mining, the Persistent Trait (Jag or Glimmer) can be helpful, though not essential. Glimmer’s passive skill edges slightly ahead here. Alternatively, consider having a Lucky cat (Bob, Charlotte, or Rosemary) or a strong fighter like Champ or, to a lesser extent, Spark.

Phantom is the obvious choice, but if you’re not struggling to catch prey, consider Charlotte for a luck boost. However, if you’re heading to contested areas, it might be better to opt for a Renowned cat over either of them.

For herb gathering, a Delicate cat (Alabaster, Buttercup, or Fliss) is what you need. Remember, the suggestion for hunting also applies here: if you’re venturing to the edges of your territory, a Renowned cat could be more beneficial for the influence boost.

If you’re undecided, Bob is a reliable option. Having the Lucky and Enterprising traits is always a boon, regardless of your plans.
