This guide explains how to enable the console in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, as well as a detailed list of what commands are available.

How to use Console

Firstly, it’s worth mentioning you will need to have a mod enabled to use console. You cannot use console without first loading up any mod. It is also worth mentioning you cannot obtain xp, levels or any other form of progression while using any mods or console.

Once you have loaded up any mod, simply click the ` key which is usually located below your ESC button. Doing so will load up something that looks like this.

If you see this you’re on the right track. If you don’t see this it means you likely did not load up a
mod properly and I would suggest going back through the last step.

Once you see this you’ll want to type /developer 2 and then click ENTER. After doing so you will not see any prompt that confirms that it is enabled, however it should be. Just do not send the command multiple times.

Assuming you’ve followed all of the above steps this means you now have console properly enabled for this play session. You will need to do this every single time you reload the game, otherwise console will not be enabled on subsequent sessions.

The game offers a ton of commands for the player to use should they have /developer 2 enabled, some of which are extremely useful for the average player and some of which have no use unless you know what you’re doing. Below is a pretty detailed, compiled and categorized list of commands that you can use. It is worth noting not all commands are listed, as there is simply too many to list.

Cheat Codes

These commands should work on any map, they are a variety of ‘Cheat Code’ commands that will boost the players experience (or degrade it depending upon the command). As always, it’s worth noting some commands are unstable and may lead to crashes or bugs. In most cases just restarting your game should fix the issue(s).

/god
gives the player god mode.
/noclip
allows the player to fly around (noclip) through the map and objects.
/ufo
same command as noclip.
/fast_restart
restarts the session without a loading screen.
/give [weapon_id]
gives the player the weapon associated with the id sent.
/give ammo
gives the player ammo.
/kill
kills the player.
/take [item_id]
takes the item that was last inputted from the player.
/take all
takes all items from the player.
/devmap [map_name]
loads the map that was inputted. might cause crashes or instability.
/timescale [0-10]
changes the speed of the game. 0 being slowest and 10 being fastest. 1 is default.
/timescale [0-10]
changes the speed of the game. 0 being slowest and 10 being fastest. 1 is default.

Gun IDs – Global

These commands are the criteria that will fill the [weapon_name] slot at the end of /give weapon_name. It’s worth noting map specific guns will not spawn on other maps to my knowledge. It is simply too much work to include all exceptions here.
