  • Title: Blackout Protocol

  • Developer: Ocean Drive Studio, Inc.
  • Publisher: Ocean Drive Studio, Inc.

This guide will show you the basic overview of the weapons and synaptics in Blackout Protocol.

Weapon Blueprints and Levels

  • Agents get to choose a second weapon when they begin a mission, along with their default sidearm. They can find Blueprints in the facility to increase their weapon options. After locating a Blueprint, Agents need to bring it to a Safe Room.
  • Sometimes, you might find a Blueprint for a weapon you already have, but at a higher level. Weapons can have different levels, ranging from 1 to 4. Even though higher-level weapons have the same basic attack power, they come with more potent Perks.
  • Perks are special features that weapons can randomly get when you find them or select them at the start of a game. Keep in mind that the same weapon can offer various synergies with different builds and upgrades based on its perks. So, pay close attention to the perks each time you discover a weapon.

Weapon Perks

  • When a weapon reaches a specific number of points in its associated Department, its Perks become active. You can boost Department levels during a run by obtaining Synaptic Enhancements of the same type. Alternatively, you can permanently increase levels by purchasing specific upgrades in a Safe Room.
  • Weapons with a higher grade come with more Perks. To see a list of all unlocked weapons and their associated Perks, you can check out the S2P Archives. Access this feature from the title screen for a comprehensive overview.

Departments

There are four Departments, and each weapon and synaptic enhancement belongs to one of them, distinguished by a specific color.

  • Firearms fall under the red Department.
  • Psionics are associated with the purple Department.
  • Bionics belong to the green Department.
  • R&D is represented by the yellow Department.

Synaptic Enhancements

Synaptic Enhancements give a temporary boost to an Agent’s skills and can be found in purple boxes called Nethercubes throughout the facility. There are three tiers of Synaptics—Silver, Gold, and Platinum—each linked to a specific Department.

Here’s a breakdown of each type:

  • Firearm synaptics (red): Impact Physical damage, reload rate, and aiming.
  • Psionic synaptics (purple): Influence Psionic damage, Panic and Mental Break effects, and Special Abilities.
  • Bionic synaptics (green): Impact max HP, rolling speed, and other defensive buffs.
  • R&D synaptics (yellow): Affect enemy drop rates, Tactical Gear, and team member synergies.

Acquiring a Synaptic Enhancement adds +1 point to the relevant Department. When opening a Nethercube, you’ll be presented with three Synaptic Enhancements to choose from. Opt for the one that complements your weapons and abilities. For more options, upgrade your Agent in a Safe Room to unlock the ability to reroll synaptics.

Efficiently combining upgrades, synaptics, weapons, and Agent abilities is crucial for a successful mission.
