In this guide, I’m going to tell you how to earn the ‘Ascension’ achievement or move forward with the Church of Husk.
The First Encounter
The first time you’ll meet the Church of Husk will happen during a random event. It could go two ways:
- You might come across a person who’s in distress, and you’ll have the choice to assist them at the Church of Husk base.
- Alternatively, you might spot someone sprinting through the outpost, and an Eccalist will ask you about the three metamorphoses.
You’ll experience the one you didn’t encounter first after completing the one you’re currently doing.
If you come across Event A, you’ll have the option to give them a Calyxanide syringe, so go ahead and do that.
If you encounter Event B, you’ll need to answer with “The Chalice of Stale Wine.”
The Second Encounter
Once you’ve successfully completed one of the situations mentioned earlier and earned some reputation, it’s time to make your way to the Church of Husk base. There’s a possibility that a Cultist will request you to bring them a “Dozen vials of Husk eggs” or something similar.
You can obtain these vials by either tackling husk-related missions or going out to hunt husked creatures on your own. Another option is to check Beacon stations. Whenever you activate a beacon, there’s a chance that Husked humanoids will appear outside your sub and attack you once you leave the station.
Alternatively, you can acquire these vials through the ‘Improved Husks’ mod, which offers missions not found in the vanilla game.
Completion
To deliver the Husk eggs, you can visit any outpost that has the Church of Husk instead of clowns. Once there, make your way to the Husk base. If you can’t locate the person to hand over the eggs to, try leaving the station and docking again. This action has a chance of summoning the Eccalist.
After successfully delivering the eggs, you’ll face a series of questions to officially confirm your recruitment into the Church of Husk. Be sure to answer “yes” to all the questions posed by the Eccalist. In return, you’ll receive Cultist Robes and the Book of Chalices: On becoming herald of the tide.
