The developer of Atan has released a new update for the game on April 8, 2024. Here are the new things that you should expect to see or change on this new update. This information was curated directly from the official announcement on Steam.
We are proud to present Atan on Steam! Our team has been hard at work to deliver an Early Access for you to play through.
Atan is an action-adventure game where you scale a massive colossal. Use your climbing skills together with your bow and anchors to make your way up!
We like to remind you that this game is ‘Early Access’ and does not fully represent the final game yet.
A lot of work is still on the way in upcoming updates!
The game is set to fully release in a few months, and we would love it if you joined us on this journey.

Atan is a student project created over the course of about 4-5 months by a team of 35 third-year students from Breda University of Applied Sciences.
We sincerely hope you enjoy the game! Have a wonderful time!
What is in the Early Access?
Early Access comes with the first level of the game.
This level contains multiple climbing and puzzle sections for you to play through.
The level also received a first art pass, giving a good idea of what the final game might look like.
What is planned for the future?
We want to deliver:
- An onboarding level, teaching the player how the game works
- A second level, more to explore!
- More art in the levels
- Polish for themovement, rope, aiming and climbing
- Lots and lots of bug fixes!
Known Issues
- Critical Bug – One gear isn’t climbable, fix incoming soon
- Main Menu – Player’s mask doesn’t follow the head
- Main Menu – Player’s hair isn’t loaded in
- Gameplay – Player’s climbing gear is pink
- Gameplay – Releasing the rope presents the ‘F’ key even though it’s ‘R’
- Controller Support – Pressing ‘B’ doesn’t back you out of the settings menu ( use the keyboard/mouse instead )
- UI – You can open the Pause Menu over the Settings menu
- Anchor – Anchors sometimes disappear between narrow surfaces.
- Anchor – If you shoot a moving Anchor Pillar, the rope attaches to the impact point and doesn’t rotate with the pillar
- Art – Some of the materials glitch/warp during movement
