I wanted to make a guide on how to unlock all achievements, as there aren’t any in steam discussions or online. The descriptions for the achievements themselves don’t help either, they all say “unlock this cigarette” or “unlock this gun.” This guide lists how and what you unlock. A lot of achievements will depend on which enemies spawn during your run. It will take trial and error, but it is very possible.
THE APPRENTICE BECAME THE MASTER
Simply finish the tutorial, selectable on the main menu.
SONS OF THE BATTLE CRY
Beat the boss for the first time. Reach 100 kills and you will encounter Katsuro.
Unlocks Rebi, the second Katana.
HALF CHINESE, HALF JAPANESE, HALF AMERICAN
Kill 50 enemies with your Katana Special Move in one game. This would be Rebi’s spin attack.
Unlocks Tadus, the third Katana.
MASTER SAMURAI
Unlock All Katanas.
“NOT IN THE FACE”
Shoot 50 enemies in one game. You must kill the target, multiple shots on a giant won’t count.
Unlocks the Inquisitor M103, the second gun.
YOU’RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT
Kill 10 enemies by deflecting bullets in one game. Wait for a shooter to spawn, bait them, then time your defend and run into a group of enemies.
Unlocks the Vicious S36, the third gun.
“I HAVE THIS!”
You have to shoot a cyber ninja with a 50+ combo, this is the start of the oddly specific achievements. There’s no special strategy to it, just keep hoping for a first wave ninja spawn and keep combo.
Unlocks the Magnum XT5, the fourth gun.
“THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK!”
Kill 25 enemies by deflecting bullets in one game. Same strategy as the Vicious S36, just more enemies.
Unlocks the Double Barrel Shotgun, the fifth gun.
Blame!
Shoot 150 enemies in one game. Any gun works, I only don’t recommend the Vicious and maybe Double Barrel. I used the stock Patron, but Magnum/Inquisitor are good.
Unlocks the Gravitational Beam Emitter, the sixth and final gun.
A WOMAN WITH NO NAME
Unlock all guns.
FIGHTING WITH STYLE
Reach 100 Boldness. This is best done by prioritizing your gun and special move.
Unlocks Black Katana, the second cigarette. Its trail is white.
KILLING SPREE
Reach 50 max combo.
Unlocks Neptune, the third cigarette. Its trail is Dark Blue.
TOUGH GUY
Reach 250 boldness.
Unlocks Old Amazon, the fourth cigarette. Its trail is Green.
CO CO CO COMBO BREAKER
Reach 100 max combo.
Unlocks Wabai Kawaii, the fifth cigarette. Its trail is Pink.
WALKING ON THE EDGE
Reach 400 boldness.
Unlocks Heaven’s Door, the sixth cigarette. Its trail is Blue.
RAMPAGE
Reach 150 max combo.
Unlocks Red Sunset, the seventh cigarette. Its trail is Red.
THE MEGA TOKYO MASSACRE
Reach 500 kills.
Unlocks Ronicorn, the eighth and final cigarette. Its trail is Rainbow.
SMOKE KILLS!
Unlock all cigarettes.
+5 IN DEXTERITY
Reach 30 kills with 100% Katana accuracy.
Unlocks the Cyber Gloves, the first gadget.
IT REALLY WORKS!
Reach the boss with a 50+ combo.
Unlocks the Stabilizer Bracelet, the second gadget.
IF YOU STOP YOU DIE
Defeat the boss using a katana special move. I recommend holding the button after hitting Katsuro to stun him.
Unlocks the Adrenaline Shot, the third gadget.
PLEASE DON’T SUE US
Reach 101 kills with 100% Katana accuracy. This one is challenging, I recommend sticking to your gun and special moves for the most part.
Unlocks the Scope Visor, the fourth gadget.
MORE BULLETS MORE KILLS
Kill a tank with a Katana special move while having 50+ combo. You’re going to have to continue the combo by killing smaller enemies while lowering the tanks health.
Unlocks the Extended Magazine, the fifth gadget.
WHAT TIME IS IT?
Defeat the boss three times in one game.
Unlocks the Nano Watch, the sixth gadget.
A FIFTH ARM IN YOUR BACK
Kill a Cyber Ninja with a Katana special move while having a 50+ combo.
Unlocks the Magnetic Pulse Emitter, the seventh gadget.
TECHNOLOGY NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME
Defeat the boss at max level. This is essentially a copy of the Nano Watch requirement.
Unlocks the Magnetic Detractor, the eighth gadget.
JUST LIKE THAT SHOW WITH COWBOYS AND ROBOTS
Reach the first boss with 80+ combo.
Unlocks the Smart Bullets, the ninth gadget.
DID YOU KNOW THAT REALLY EXIST?
Defeat the boss at max level using a Katana special move.
Unlocks the Katana Gun, the tenth gadget.
THE ACCURACY OF AN AUTOMATA
Reach 201 kills with 100% Katana accuracy. This one is just going to take time, good luck.
Unlocks the Tactical Visor, the eleventh and final gadget.
SAMURAI GADGET
Unlock all gadgets.
FAST ENOUGH TO TIME TRAVEL
Kill 3 Tanks in one game.
Unlocks the Sprint Shoes, the second pair of shoes.
THE CLASSIC WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER
Kill 3 Cyber Ninjas in one game.
Unlocks the Samurai Sandals, the third pair of shoes.
BULLET DODGER
Kill 5 Shooters in one game.
