Do you find it hard to grow a dino without dying to a pesky Carno or Deino? Welcome to the guide of finding Ai and Fish without the endangerment of another cannibal on your tail!
Where to Find AI?
To Find Ai, no matter where and When you must know what AI is and how to find them. AI is found throughout the map in ‘spawn points’, the spawn points are triggered whenever someone is close to them. This is why finding the locations is crucial to survival. They can be found in:
Croc Pond
This area can be found on the south Spawn point, often this area is filled with dinos however whenever the servers are empty. Use croc pond as a fishing pond as many fish spawn here on a 20-minute basis.
For Carnos, this is a place you should visit if servers are empty as the fish serve well as a meal as it fills up a good amount of hunger per bite. Utahs can also use this area, however, may find it harder due to the size difference.
South Plains
This area can be found on the south spawn point, to the right of croc pond’s Waterfall is a vast amount of plains. This area spawns a group of Dyro Ai, often they spawn 4-5 in a row but unlike fish, they begin at the beginning of their lives growing up to Adults in 30 minutes. This area is great for growing a herd of Dinos from hatchling up to Sub Adult as long as your patient for Ai to grows to their adult size.
Raptor Rock
This area can be found on the south spawn point towards the Center. Often a great place to hang out as Utah and Ptera, you can find Dyro Ai present here often spawning 3-4 in a row. Be careful here as often Carnos and Utah alike hunt other players here.
Though Safety can be found for any creature with the ‘jump’ ability to go onto raptor rock.
However, don’t attempt Pounce or Charge to attack Ai here as the hills often cause Fall Damage off the small or big ledges found on both sides of the hill.
This is the end of all South Point Spawn points, however, the amount of AI serves well as a great starting point and often for me saves my life if starving from a camping Deino or Carno at croc pond.
Center Plains
This area is great for player hunting due to its vast area, however, it is all an AI spawn point. Why is this a problem? Because the AI spawn point takes up the whole area, meaning often finding them is tricky as the center spans most of the map. As a growing Carno and Utah, you do not want to be here due to hunting players and the small amount of Ai you can find.
However, as an adult Utah and Carno, you can often eat off of other players or if the server is empty. Head to the croc pond for the Fish as it is the easiest route to survival if you are starving.
North Plains and Waterfall
If your playing solo at the north spawn point, this area is great for hiding away from Cannibals and Groups and have Ai Dyros spawning here often. With a beautiful view that is screenshot able, this place is great if your playing by yourself. However, like a croc pond, you can find fish here at a shallow death as a Carno, if a sub or adult wanders into the water occasionally. Fish may beach themselves on land, easy pickings to have if you need to relocate here.
Swamp Dam
The swamps are a dangerous place for Carnos and Utah due to the abundance of space and vegetation. You will often find a dino in the water, and a hoard of Stego and Teno waiting to finally get their first kill.
However occasional ai do spawn here, however often they are misplaced due to other herbivores migrating from their food source to another.
What and How to Hunt?
At the moment, they are two types of AI. Dryo and Fish are found throughout the Map and often can save a starving player from death. I am going to discuss both so that no matter where you are you can find them by sight or by sound.
Fish
Fish or referred to that of Elite fish, are fish that wander in rivers and ponds to be food for deinos. However, they can be also used as a food resource for Carno and Utah. Depending on which dino you play, depends on how much you gain from finding these Fish.
Carnos gain 10% of hunger back per bite if you are a full-grown adult. You will need 5 fish to keep your hunger full. Whilst for 2 Utahs, you can fill all of your hunger bar with room for more for smaller Utah. Quite a reliable food resource if no crocs are around.
Luckily in places such as Croc Ponds, you will find more than 5 fish spawn meaning you can last here till the fish respawn again.
To hunt Elite Fish, you as a carno or utah can swim within a river or pond to beach fish. However, the easiest way to hunt Elite Fish is in the location of Croc pond as you can use one feature of land to make the impossible to see fish clear as day. The waterfall, as long as your camera is in the water or facing it. You can swim towards it to direct the fish towards the camera, and towards your jaws.
Carno as an adult can pick up fish as they bite making it easy to run to land and eat the food without endangerment of croc spawning. However, Utahs on other hand are harder to deal with as a dead fish will not be picked up but instead will fall to the bottom of the pond. After a minute or two, the fish will resurface on the top of the pond and can be picked up by pressing G.
Dyro
Dyro found in most plains can be killed by a pounce or by a charge. However the hardest part is finding them, you can find them by hearing their 1 call. If you hear a high-pitched call, you are close as the AI will make noise to try and direct you to them. However, be aware that they will have to grow to be worthwhile to older dinos. It will take 30 minutes however worth it if you hunt the juvis and letting some life hunting later. A full-grown Dyro can feed a small pack of Utahs whilst for a carno, one grown dyro will feed your bar halfway.
Tip: If you practice finding Ai within the locations and knowing where they spawn. Then it will be easier to come back and find them once again. For example, find triangular paths that symbolize an Ai is nearby. Shown in the example below this text.
Players
Once you have grown up to Sub-Adult or Adult for Carno or Utah, it is at this point where you can take on the world without the risk of being killed immediately. Be wise with your player kills and choosing a balance of AI and Player will make it easier for your dino to last longer without facing cannibals or a mega pack.
Be aware they are players, Think wisely before turning to cannibalism as it could be you were one sprint away from a pond filled with fish or a dyro load of food! But of course, have fun!
