A quick guide to the Steam Trophies for your games displayed in the Steam VR Home and what the different aspects of their appearance mean. Which data drives which aspects of their appearance.
Introduction
This is a quick guide to trophies, and which data about your game is used to generate the appearance of your trophy. For some reason, this information doesn’t seem to be well-published elsewhere, so here it is, as best as I can determine.
Trophy Cup Size and Material
Trophy Cups Size and Material are based entirely upon the percentage of achievements you have achieved for a particular game. Note that for games that do not have achievements, the percentage is calculated as 0%, not 100%, so those trophies will always be black/iron.
- 0% Black Iron
- 0.01-33.33% Bronze
- 33.34-66.66% Silver
- 66.67-99.99% Gold
- 100% Platinum
Trophy Base Material
Trophy Base Material is Determined by the level of badges crafted from trading cards for the game in question.
- Level 0 Badges – Wood
- Level 1 Badges – Marble
- Level 2 Badges – Carbon Fiber
- Level 3 Badges – Silver
- Level 4 Badges – Gold
- Level 5 Badges – Titanium?
- Foil Badge – Foiled/Holographic Base
