To adjust the Field of View (FOV) in Starfield since Bethesda didn’t include an FOV slider, you can follow these steps:
- Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following directory: Documents > My Games > Starfield.
- Inside the Starfield folder, right-click on an empty space and select “New” followed by “Text Document.”
- Name the newly created document “StarfieldCustom.ini” without the “.txt” extension. Make sure to remove the “.txt” at the end.
- Open the “StarfieldCustom.ini” document using Notepad.
- Copy and paste the following lines into the document:
[Camera] fFPWorldFOV=100.0000 fTPWorldFOV=100.0000 fDefaultFOV=100 [FlightCamera] fFlightCameraFOV=100
- Replace the “100” values with your preferred FOV settings for first person, third person, and spaceship views. The default FOV values in Starfield are 85 for first person and 70 for third person.
- Save the changes to the “StarfieldCustom.ini” file and close it.
Note: If your new “StarfieldCustom.ini” file doesn’t appear as an ini file, follow these additional steps: Click at the top-left of the Notepad window, go to “View,” select “Show,” and then choose “File name extensions.” Ensure that the “.txt” extension is removed and replaced with “.ini.”
