Describes the basics and niches of the enemies of Craterbound.
Tools of War
In Craterbound, you are given two basic weapons and two throwable weapons to begin with. Different enemies’ weaknesses or strengths against the different weapons will be covered in their respective section. The various weapons are as follows:
- Электрическое копье – Basic Melee Weapon, Short Range
- Пистолет – Stun Ranged Weapon, Long Range
- Граната – AOE Weapon, Medium Range
- ЭМИ – AOE Specialized Weapon, Medium Range
Электрическое копье
The spear is accessed by pressing ‘3’ or by scrolling to it. The spear only has a left click primary use, which throws the spear forward slightly and sends out a small jolt of electricity. This weapon, if you land your hit, will do some amount of damage but not stun enemies. Its short range makes attacking enemies head-on dangerous, and sometimes very futile.
Пистолет
The pistol is accessed by pressing ‘4’ or by scrolling to it. The pistol has both a primary and secondary use. Когда запускается, it will send out a laser which can damage and stun enemies. Enemies that are stunned by the weapon will soon grow a tolerance to the blast, so it is better used to buy yourself some time to move in with melee or run away!
- The primary use has a short wind-up time between when you trigger the pistol and when it shoots, and uses a small amount of power.
- The secondary use has a longer wind-up time and uses a larger amount of power, but will send out three quick laser bursts.
Its long range makes attacking certain enemies possible, and other enemies easier than through pure melee, though be careful to watch your energy levels!
Граната
Граната (if crafted) is accessed by pressing ‘5’ or by using it from your tablet inventory. The grenade can be used by left clicking or stowed by hitting ‘Escape’. Когда запускается, the grenade will be launched a short distance away from the player before detonating on impact. Any applicable entities in close proximity to the grenade will take large amounts of damage, включая игрока.

The EMP (if crafted) is accessed by pressing ‘6’ or by using it from your tablet inventory. The EMP can be used by left clicking or stowed by hitting ‘Escape’. Когда запускается, the EMP will be launched a short distance away from the player before releasing an electromagnetic pulse on impact. Any non-organic enemies within close proximity will be killed immediately.
Enemy Variation
Пауки, Laser Tanks, and Bombers, all have a 16% chance of becoming a blue variation and a 7% additional chance of becoming a green variation.
Blue Variation
- Obviously changes enemy color to blue
- Has two times the mine-able resources as a typical enemy.
- Spiders have twice the amount of health than they typically do
- Bombers have ~1.5 times the normal blast radius than they typically do
Green Variation
- Obviously changes enemy color to green
- Has three times the mine-able resources as a typical enemy.
- Spiders have three times the amount of health than they typically do
- Bombers have ~2.0 times the normal blast radius than they typically do
Game Difficulty
Craterbound comes with three default difficulties: Стандартный, Трудный, and Extremophile. All three difficulties massively impact the world around you, from enemy spawn rates, laser tank speeds, damage done, oxygen-loss rate, and much, много, более. Difficulty defines so many values and facets of the game that it would take many, many paragraphs to define what it controls.
- Стандартный – The “Легкий” mode of Craterbound. This mode gives you a lax oxygen timer, easier combat, and less enemies to fight and less frequently. Хотя, you may have trouble finding sufficient enemies to gather resources at times. I would recommend this difficulty for a casual gamer who does not like a challenge.
- Трудный – The “Нормальный” mode of Craterbound. This mode gives you a typical oxygen timer, more difficult combat than Standard, and a healthy amount of enemies to fight. I would recommend this difficulty for the average gamer who is new to the game.
- Extremophile – The “Жесткий” mode of Craterbound. Prepare to die. This mode keeps you on a tight leash with your oxygen timer, has intense combat (especially with the laser tanks), and a lot of enemies to fight. I would recommend this difficulty for veterans of the game or players who embrace a hard-core challenge!
Iron Rocks
The Iron Rock is the stealthiest of all enemies in Craterbound. With no movement or attack, players are lured in by their iron, drawing them into a sense of complacency. But one day… the iron rocks will rise! Iron Rocks can be mined using the multi-tool easily.

Aluminum Crystals
Aluminum Crystals can be found in the midland trees or in the lowland caves near the player spawn. The caves are the easiest way of finding the aluminum crystals and can be found along the hills in the lower valley. Aluminum Crystals are not susceptible to any weapon expect grenades, but can be mined using the multi-tool easily.

Пустяки: The Aluminum Crystal was the hardest “враг” to get to spawn correctly.
Crawlers
Crawlers are two of the only passive enemies in Craterbound, alongside the Iron Rocks. With a preference of low oxygen, they stick to high altitudes on the planet. They are the alternative to mining the aluminum crystals found in the caves and crystal trees.

Пустяки: The Crawler once defended the aluminum caves as an aggressive enemy, but was too overpowering with its large size in such small areas.
Silicon Spiders
The Silicon Spider is the most basic and easiest enemy in Craterbound. With a paralyzing bite, players are slowed down significantly for a short time when attacked by this enemy, making it hard to escape their clutches. They do low amounts of damage but quickly, allowing them to kill of a player who is low on guard or strays too close to them, especially if they are in groups.

Бомбардировщики
The Bomber is a tricky enemy to attack in Craterbound. With a large blast radius upon death and an interesting AI, players would be wise to be cautious of the Bomber. Upon seeing a player, bombers will lock on to them, slowly increasing speed with time as they charge their internal bomb. Upon being killed or detonated, the bombers will do large amounts of damage in an area of effect, the range of which is dependent on the level’s difficulty.

Laser Tanks
The Tank is the hardest and most persistent enemy to attack in Craterbound. With a resistance to almost any attack and a persistent AI, players should default to stunning and running away from tanks early game. The personification of aim-bot, tanks will lock on to players and charge their weapon, shooting a laser which deals a large amount of damage every shot. Tanks also prefer to be a medium distance from the player when attacking them, repositioning themselves to stay clear of any attacks from the player.

Боссы
Craterbound contains two boss battles. For the sake of not spoiling the game, this page will only have two minor clues as to how to defeat those bosses. Defeating both bosses is required for repairing your cruiser.
