Dealing with Fang can be trickier because of the landscape and the web mashing not always working right. We’ll address that soon. How to Beat Fang’s Mech

I assume if you’re reading this, it’s probably because of the reason I’m thinking. The first form of the boss is quite simple, and it gives you time to get used to the wavy platforms you’ll be standing on. The first attack involves a bunch of missiles. As the fight goes on, there will be more missiles, but the way to handle them remains the same: run to the right and jump when necessary.

These bars move very slowly, and getting under them is just a matter of taking your time. He’ll leave himself open for attacks for a while. He can’t harm you if you’re behind him, and you can hit him at your own pace. His last attack in this phase is placing two spinning bars on your left and right and creating five illusions. One of them is the real Fang, and you can identify him because he’ll be brighter. These illusions will take off and fall to attack you, and the order in which they shoot is the order in which they’ll fall. You can jump into Fang from the side to damage him as he falls. I personally don’t do this because the collision detection has killed me many times when trying this. Using Time Slow may help here, and the typical Special Move projectile can also come in handy.

Repeat this a few times, and he’ll transform into the new form, the one you’re likely familiar with if you’re reading this guide.

Fighting Fang can be chaotic with several abilities to keep track of. The easiest is when he spits up a bunch of minor enemies. Similar to dealing with Eggman, run behind him and jump on any enemy that spawns near his back. It will bounce back and hit him. The next attack is also straightforward, so I’ll include it here. He’ll shoot a bunch of corks. Run behind him, and when the corks hit the ground, they will split into a red and a blue bouncing damage bubble. Hit the blue one to damage him. You can also use the Avatar ability here if you want.

The part where I often see people struggle is with the web attack. Three aiming reticles will circle you, and you need to wait until they either form a triangle around you or if one is directly on you. If they make a triangle, hop over the one next to you. If one is directly on you, run to the right. This part requires concentration, especially as it’s his more dangerous ability, and towards the end, you’ll face five of these in a row. Try not to run too far to the right because after his webs, he’ll start shooting at you. Running too far can make you fall off the stage, which can be a sneaky way to get defeated.

Felizmente, these shots are well-aimed and won’t kill you. No entanto, if you get shot while you’re caught in a web, you’ll lose a life. Às vezes, you can mash your controller to escape the web, but it’s not very reliable, so it’s best to learn to avoid getting caught in it in the first place. Some players swear by pausing repeatedly to get the timing right on the web, but this method hasn’t worked for me and usually disrupts my rhythm, leading to my defeat. As a rare and last-ditch effort, Fang may try to headbutt you. He’ll grab both sides of the stage and slam his head down, destroying the central platform. I didn’t mention using Time Slow until this point for a reason. Using it here makes it much easier to land on the small bit of safe platform near his arms. But be careful not to touch his arms, as it will likely cause you to lose a life. If you’re in a desperate situation, the Bullet ability can also make this scenario much easier. If you still have 50 anéis, going Super here is an excellent way to avoid one of his more deadly attacks.

Repeat these strategies a few times, and you’ll defeat Fang. You’ll either feel really happy or just relieved that it’s finally over. My top advice is that if you’re getting frustrated to the point of unhappiness, it’s okay to turn the game off and come back to it later. The final level isn’t too difficult to redo, and approaching the boss fight with a fresh mindset is usually the best approach when dealing with a tough boss.
