This guide will show you the complete item tier list for update version 1.1.0 of Goobies.

Introdução

This list helps you pick the best items in the game. Here’s the order you should follow:

Priority Order:

  1. Tree Whisperer
  2. Dual Use items
  3. Boss Melter Items
  4. Swarm Melter Items
  5. Damage Reduction Items
  6. Porcaria
  7. Idle Hands (only if you have less than 4 projéteis)

If you think an item is strong enough, you can skip it and choose something lower on the list.

Tree Whisperer Tier

This is a super important item once you reach around stage 5 ou algo assim. The sooner you grab it, melhor. Tree Whisperer works like this: when you’re chilling on a tree, it drops items for you. It does this about once every second. Agora, here’s the tricky part: if you’re hanging out on multiple trees, it will only pick one of them to drop items on. Moving quickly across lots of trees doesn’t seem to make it drop items faster, but we’re not completely sure about that since the devs haven’t confirmed it.

Getting Tree Whisperer early in the game is a smart move because it means more items for you. If you skip it, you might hit a point where leveling up won’t help you get more items, and that’s no fun. Mas aqui está o problema: before you can get Tree Whisperer, you need to grab Tree Hugger first. A coisa é, Tree Hugger isn’t all that useful, especially if you’re using Abnormal Autopsy. Então, it’s a bit of a trade-off.

Dual Use Tier

These items are like double trouble because they can be used for different things at the same time – think boss melting, swarm melting, e cura. These should be your top picks when they show up, at least until a certain point.

Priority Order:

  1. Tree Whisperer Tier
  2. Spirit of Mumsa
  3. Barra
  4. Energia
  5. Massa
  6. Boss Melter Tier

Spirit of Mumsa: This one’s a goodie for both boss melting and staying alive. Each time you level it up, it adds to its power. It gives you a speed boost and makes your attacks hit harder. Mais, there’s a neat frenzy thing that happens when you attack, which is a fancy way of saying you go crazy strong for a few seconds. Start by putting a point here before the others.

Barra: Agora, this one’s all about slicing and dicing swarms and bosses. You’ll need a bit of crit for it to work, but there are three crit upgrades that make it awesome. No nível 1, it’s just for swarms and activates on a crit with a 20% chance. It slashes nearby enemies and deals some extra damage. Nível 2 cranks up the crit chance and damage, and each level adds another slash. By level 5, it’s like a crit fest with guaranteed crits. Focus on getting it to level 5 and then forget about it.

Salvaged Energy (AoE): This item does two cool things: it dishes out area damage (AoE) and heals you. The damage it does at the end of a round is impressive. It hits enemies around you based on your combo. Nível 1 deals damage equal to 50% of your combo in a radius. Nível 2 adds more damage and a tiny bit more based on your combo. By level 3, the bonus damage and healing get even better. The final upgrade gives you orbs at the end of a combo, but that’s not super important. If you’re using Abnormal Autopsy, go for level 3, se não, nível 4, and then look at other upgrades.

Tranquilizing Mass: This one’s a triple threat – it’s great for boss melting, redução de danos, and keeping those swarms away. It starts slow but gets fantastic. Nível 1 isn’t impressive, but by level 5, you’ve got 5 orbiting masses that can give you a shield for damage reduction. Depois do nível 5, you can make the shield even better. These masses do more damage as you level up and spin around like a buzz saw. Perto do nível 10, you don’t need more masses, so focus on getting to level 5 and then check out other upgrades.

Boss Melter Tier

These items are all about adding some serious damage to single targets, like bosses, mini-bosses, and elites. Why focus on these? Bem, bosses can get pretty nasty with their ranged attacks, and you want to beat them before they beat you!

Priority Order:

  1. Dual Use Tier
  2. Crushed Ruby
  3. Crumbled Sapphire
  4. Yellow Sapphire
  5. Brisk Capsule
  6. Sonic Howl
  7. Citrine Crumbs
  8. Girthed Up
  9. Condensed Power
  10. Hardened Tip
  11. Obliteração
  12. Swarm Melter Tier

Crushed Ruby: This is your go-to for boosting your crit chance beyond the starting bonus. As you level it up, it gets better and better. Níveis 1-3 give you more crit chance and crit damage. Níveis 4-6 transform it into Cracked Ruby, which further increases crit chance, crit damage, and adds a bleeding effect. Nível 7 turns it into Immaculate Ruby, with a massive crit chance and a 1% chance to insta-kill enemies. Prioritize getting this to level 7 before anything else.

Crumbled Sapphire: This gem boosts all your damage sources. Nível 1-3 increases your damage by a percentage. Nível 4-5 turns it into Fractured Sapphire, giving you even more damage and a chance for double damage. Nível 6-7 further increases damage and the double damage chance. Get this to level 7, then move on.

Yellow Sapphire: This one adds extra damage to your attacks based on your movement speed. It’s better than Hardened Tip. Put at least one point into it early on and then consider your movement speed when deciding whether to invest more.

Brisk Capsule: It’s good for speed, but too much speed can be a problem. You don’t need too many points here for damage.

Sonic Howl (AoE): Originally thought to be just for swarms, this actually deals substantial damage to bosses too. It activates every second and centers on you, creating a shield of damage. Prioritize it over other AoE abilities. Seismic Tsunami is also good, so try to get this to level 7 antes de seguir em frente.

Citrine Crumbs: Increases your attack speed, but it doesn’t affect projectile speed. Only go for it if you’re attacking too slowly.

Girthed Up: Boosts your AoE range, which is quite significant. It’s more effective against swarms.

Condensed Power: Increases your AoE damage, a straightforward boost.

Hardened Tip: Adds a permanent +1 to your base projectile damage, affecting all projectiles. Might not affect Tranquilizing Mass.

Obliteração (AoE): This one’s a bit peculiar. It seems to multiply the damage of other attacks. It’s not very strong on its own, but in longer runs, it contributes a decent chunk of your total damage. Níveis 1-2 have a chance to deal extra damage to enemies above a certain health percentage. Nível 3 transforms it into Post Mortem Obliteration, with a chance to deal even more damage to enemies above 80% saúde. If the target dies, it triggers an effect that boosts “On Death” effects.

Swarm Melter Tier

These items are all about dealing damage to lots of enemies at once, like swarms. They’re great for chain attacks, on-hit effects, or AoE attacks. Since most enemies die in one hit, these are perfect for clearing swarms. Even the lower-ranked items here have their uses.

Priority Order:

  1. Boss Melter Tier
  2. Corrente
  3. Soft Blobs
  4. Splinter
  5. Explosive Blobs / Fogo / Implode (Focus on one)
  6. Damage Reduction Tier (as needed)
  7. Chain Lightning
  8. Thousand Needles
  9. Hailstorm
  10. Strange Fruit

Corrente (Projétil): It’s like getting an extra projectile without a special bonus after it bounces.

Soft Blobs (Projétil): Adds an extra, slightly weaker projectile that still counts as your initial attack.

Splinter (Projétil): Dá a você +3 projectiles and they chain once you get Splinter Storm.

Explosive Blobs (AoE): Triggers on kill and the final upgrade can chain. It’s the most effective at taking down swarms.

Fogo (AoE): Also triggers on kill, and the third upgrade allows it to chain. It’s a bit weaker but easier to upgrade.

Implode (AoE): Triggers on attack, dealing more damage and getting more kills than the others. Chains less but procs more. The final tier is solid.

Chain Lightning (Projétil): Only grab this if you really need something that chains early on.

Thousand Needles (Projétil): Similar to Chain Lightning, get it only if you need an early chain attack.

Hailstorm (Projétil): Hailstorm centers around your Gooby, which isn’t ideal for swarms.

Strange Fruit: Consider this if you need more range, but it’s not a top priority.

Damage Reduction Tier

These items are all about reducing, avoiding, or healing damage. No entanto, some of the items that could belong here have multiple effects and are listed in higher tiers. Atualmente, there’s only one item in this tier. The effectiveness of these effects is less important if you already have at least one point in the healing fairy. Damage reduction mainly matters when you can’t be killed in one hit or less than a second. Most of your defense actually comes from your offense. If the game developers add more items in the future, this tier might expand.

Thick Hide: This upgrade is most noticeable because it boosts your healing. The damage reduction is fantastic at the cap of 50%, but if you skip it, you won’t notice much of a difference in the damage you take, especially if you’re already a powerhouse that only bosses can harm. It’s a good idea to put points into this as needed. Since it takes 7 upgrades to reach Spikey Discharge, take your chances to get Thick Hide if you require damage reduction.

Junk Tier

These are items that don’t really bring much to the table, have better alternatives available, or are just plain weak. You might want to fully upgrade some of them for the encyclopedia entries, but that’s about it.

Priority Order:

  1. Halo (only for low HP runs)
  2. Damage Reduction Tier
  3. Orb Amplifier
  4. Rerroll
  5. Dizzys Ball (if you have obstacles in your way)
  6. Frostbolt
  7. Ghost Blobs
  8. Soul of Amam
  9. Wiggling Worms
  10. Silly Saucer
  11. Bloberang
  12. Halo (only if there are no better options)
  13. Goo
  14. Essence of Zigrid
  15. Spikes
  16. Idle Hands Tier

Orb Amplifier: No nível 4, it gives you 30% more XP and a chance for duplicate orbs. That’s about as good as it gets.

Dizzys Ball (Projétil): These extra projectiles come from balls that can go through walls. While they don’t count as an initial attack, they can add some damage. They can also ricochet but don’t provide a significant boost.

Frostbolt (Projétil): Sometimes a frost projectile shoots out from other projectiles and goes through enemies. The upgrades are decent, but this is unpredictable and not very potent.

Ghost Blobs (AoE): Although the game claims it does a lot of damage, it doesn’t compare to main AoE damage dealers like Fire, Implode, Explosive Blob, Sonic Howl, or Energy. It’s not reliable enough due to randomness.

Soul of Amam (AoE): Tem um 5% chance to fire a shade that goes through enemies and makes them explode, but the damage is quite low.

Wiggling Worms (AoE): Worms move away from dead enemies and through other enemies, causing damage. No entanto, it’s not particularly powerful and doesn’t chain well.

Silly Saucer (Projétil): Rotates around you and flies off when hit. It’s not very potent. The upgrade adds a saw that goes across the screen sometimes, but it’s not worth pursuing.

Bloberang (Projétil): Generated from attacks, these fly in an arc and deal minimal damage. Upgrades spawn more Bloberangs and allow you to relaunch them by catching them, but it’s not a strong choice.

Halo: You can make it work with a specific low HP build where you maintain a lot of HP loss. De outra forma, it’s not very useful as you’ll quickly heal to full.

Goo (AoE): Misses more often than it hits and creates messy visuals. When it does hit, causa um dano decente, but that’s rare.

Essence of Zigrid (AoE): It spawns goo balls above random enemies on attack, but the animation is messy, and the goo balls don’t do much damage.

Spikes: These are practically useless, as they deal barely any damage even when fully upgraded.

Idle Hands Tier

Idle Hands gets its own special mention because it’s considered the worst item in the game. It imposes permanent debuffs once you have 4 projéteis. While it might be usable before you upgrade your starting projectiles, it’s crucial to prioritize increasing your number of projectiles before any other stat. There’s mathematical evidence in the Steam discussions that supports this, so unless it’s reworked in the future, it’s best to avoid it at all costs.
