“What skills am I going to need, and when am I going to need them?” That’s the idea behind this guide, all skill-checks in a nice spreadsheet so you don’t have to go scouring through six web pages on the wiki to find out too late that you didn’t pack enough points into speech to get that good ending.”

What this guide does, and what it doesn’t:

Skill checks, they’re everywhere in Fallout: Nowe Vegas. When planning a new run through the game for a challenge, character concept, or whatnot, you’re going to run into a point where you can’t get what you want by just shooting, you’ll have to pass a skill-check. Jasne, you could go to the wiki, look through six pages to find the info you want, or you could just scroll through a spreadsheet with all the info readily available!

That’s why I made this guide, which sacrifices depth for breadth. This guide offers a quick overview of all the skill checks in the game that I could find, and put them in a list.

(If you need more specific information about an area/item, use the wiki.)Need to know how much lockpick you need to have by the time you get to Vault 34? Is there an easy way to bypass a speech check? I try to offer as much as that information in a table as possible. Just ctrl+f to find what you’re looking for, or scroll through the sections. I tried to put them in a reasonable order, saving New Vegas for last.

NOTATKA 1: Items and goals that are just laying around, or otherwise do not require a specific skill-check to get them, are not mentioned. Locked containers with assorted loot are not mentioned unless they guarantee spawn of a rare or significant item, such as Fixer, or a dozen Rad-Away in an irradiated bunker.

NOTATKA 2: I made this guide as something I thought I would want to use for future runs, and I thought others could make use of it too.

This guide contains spoilers, and assumes the reader is not undergoing their first play-through.
