Get all the achievements! And get some basic Diabolical tips.
The Basics of Stats
Choice of Games games usually follow a similar format. In the first part of the game, you make choices that boost your stats; in the last part of the game, you choose which stats get tested. The usual strategy is to pick one set of stats to focus on, then choose all the options that say “I’ll use my high (stat) to solve this”.
In Diabolical, you should choose one of Ingenuity, Combat or Terror, and focus on that one.
Istnieją również “personality” statystyki; they’re similar to the other stats, but they come in pairs. You decide which end of a spectrum you fall on. Usually you pick one from each pair and focus on it; decide if you want to be Activist/Selfish, or Theatrical/Pragmatic…Curiously, chociaż, Theatricality sometimes acts like an alternative to Ingenuity/Combat/Terror.
Lethality measures how many people you’ve actually killed in your rise to villainy. This actually does influence some choices, so for each playthrough, decide if you want to go for low Lethality or high Lethality.
Planning points are kind of a fun wrinkle, but they really don’t affect gameplay that much. You usually don’t have to worry about them.
There’s also “ukryty” stat that we might call “Notoriety”. Zasadniczo, it’s increased when you’re successful at villainous endeavors. It’s only checked a couple of times; trying to make a deal with Minotaur when you get a phone call in the vault, and trying to convince Murder to work for you as a mole…and you need a lot of it for one particular ending.
Niezbędne osiągnięcia
What Sort of Name Is Professor Murder? – Truly unmissable.
Blast from the Past – During Chapter Nine, you’ll encounter Professor Murder again, and that will give you this achievement—Jednakże, in Chapter Two, you can kill Professor Murder. Jeśli to zrobisz, I mean it’s not like I blame you, but then you can’t get this achievement in that playthrough.
Sidekicks
During Chapter Five, you’re prompted to choose a sidekick. You can only choose one per playthrough.
- Brawn Over Brains – Choose Slog
- Fallen – Choose The Star
- Hacked – Choose Hackmaster
Story Choice Achievements
Turn a Blind Eye – During Chapter Three, if you get along with Steelheart well enough, you’ll be informed that there’s an opportunity to rob a museum. This will unlock a later option: “It’s getting too hot around here. I’m going to hit the museum Steelheart tipped me off to”.
To get along with Steelheart well enough for this option, all you really have to do is NOT upset them when they show up in your hideout.
GOOD options: “I smile calmly. ‘Good afternoon, Deputy Director'”, “Glad you like them. My dungeons are nice, zbyt”, “For your own safety, agent, I wouldn’t use those vents in the future!”, “You owe me for a new monitor”
Savior – During Chapter Seven, create a genuine cure for the zombies. Your Ingenuity MUST be greater than 65. (Note that it doesn’t matter whether you simply develop it, or if you sell it to VANGUARD; the choice will affect your Activism/Selfishness, and the nicer way gives you an opportunity to flirt, but either way you should get the achievement.)
Manipulator – During Chapter Seven, very similar to Savior, Ale “Make a fake cure that lets me control all the infected people”. Ponownie, Ingenuity MUST be greater than 65.
Philanthropist (ukryty) – During Chapter Nine, you’ll eventually get to a computer room—I think it’s impossible to miss. Wybierać “Give me access to all of Minotaur’s files”. Potem, choose anything; you should get the achievement at the koniec of the chapter.
Romans
Star-Crossed Lovers (ukryty) – Start a relationship with Steelheart.
From Minotaur With Love (ukryty) – Start a relationship with the Count/Countess.
During Chapter Eleven, if these two characters like you enough, they’ll show up and attempt to romance you. (Oczywiście, it’s possible to kill the Count/Countess when they show up at the base, which will put the kibosh on To relationship.) If you accept, dostaniesz osiągnięcie. To Jest possible to get both achievements in one playthrough.
You have a lot of opportunities to get on Steelheart’s good side in Chapters Three, Seven and Eleven. Zazwyczaj, the more polite and less lethal you are, tym lepiej. Widzieć “Turn a Blind Eye”, powyżej, for some Chapter Three tips. In Seven, you can develop a cure, and you can flirt. In Eleven, if you destroy Madagascar, that’s bad; if you demand money and power, that’s neutral; if you demand Merit City’s corrupt government be disbanded—or you project a movie on the moon—To dobrze. NOTATKA: If your sidekick is Hackmaster, then in Chapter Eleven she’ll cause a big relationship hit; I don’t think there’s any way to avoid this (except not choosing Hackmaster).
Your opportunities for Count/Countess relationship points come in Chapters Eight, Nine and Eleven. In Chapter Eight, if you can successfully intimidate them (need Terror or Combat), or successfully make a deal (need Notoriety I Theatricality), To dobrze. Stealing half (or even all!) of the gold is also good. In Chapter Nine, there are obvious things like “Shoot at the Drake” I “My money’s on the Minotaur agent”. In Chapter Eleven, demanding money and power will impress them.
Final Battle
Getting through Arachnus’ ship isn’t too difficult. There’s a bit where you can choose between “Use my combat skills”, “Rely on my ingenuity” Lub “Use the art of terror”, “Put on a show”; the appropriate stat has to be greater than 65 to win.
Jednakże, your sidekick will also make trouble…
- Slog will attempt to betray you; just choose the option that fits your stats. You can choose “Namówić” if you have high Terror, Activism or Lethality; “Follow his own path” takes Theatricality, I “Zabij go” takes Combat. If you choose the wrong one, Mission Failed.
- If you have Hackmaster, there’s no choice involved. With high Ingenuity I Lethality, you get your Ingenuity boosted even further, otherwise nothing happens (stat-wise, co najmniej).
- Star waits until after the Pierwszy fight with Arachnus. Ponownie, “Try to talk to him” takes Terror, Activism or Lethality. “Czekać” takes high Activism or low Lethality. Killing him always works(!). Ponownie, wrong choice = Mission Failed.
The final fight is nearly impossible to lose. (Chyba że, weirdly, you choose “the skill I’ve mastered above all others” and the two highest of Ingenuity/Combat/Terror are tied.)
Zakończenia
True Villainy – Dostawanie każdy ending will give you this achievement. Chyba że…
Mission Failed – …unless you screw up and die in Arachnus’ ship. (Widzieć “Final Battle”, above.)
Once you completely finish the final battle, you’ll be given a choice of endings, BUT: Most of the endings are tied to stats. If you don’t have the correct stat high enough for the ending you choose, you’ll get a mediocre ending. These mediocre endings are usually amusing(?), ale oni nie award achievements (z wyjątkiem “True Villainy”).
The stats have to be high to get the endings, z wyjątkiem where otherwise noted:
- Wysięgnik – “Completely destroy the Earth” – High Lethality
- Tomorrow, the World – “Make myself the ruler of the world” – Selfish
- World Peace – “Transform Earth into a perfect utopia” – Activist and low Lethality
- No Rules – “Change the world into a lawless anarchist paradise” – Activist and high Lethality
- Sun God – “Have my face appear on the sun forever” – Theatricality
- Ricky Rat – “Make the entire world just a little more cartoony” – Theatricality and low Lethality
- With Great Power… – “Blow up Doctor Arachnus’ ship” – Notoriety
- BFFs – “Resurrect a dead friend” – Tylko nie wybierać “Forget being careful, I have a whole list of people to revive”. You should have at least one other choice available unless you screwed everyone over I Slog was your sidekick.
- Turn Back the Clock – “Undo the damage Doctor Arachnus did to the planet” – Never fails.
- Leave It Alone – “Return to Earth without doing anything” – Also never fails.
Messing With Saved Games
Some computer games let you have multiple save files, to try different things. Choice of Games games don’t…unless you track down the save files yourself. It’s possible to copy a save to a different directory, zagraj w grę, then copy the save back to get back to the same point you were at…the implications are left as an exercise for the reader. Oczywiście, some might consider this cheating, so I’ll put it behind a spoiler.
I only know how to find the save files on Windows. I bet if you’re on a different kind of system, you can figure it out…and if you installed Steam in a different location, then things might be different, but in that case, you’re probably the kind of user who’s up to the challenge.
Idź do
C:\Pliki programu (x86)\Steam\userdata
Następnie, in that directory, find your user directory. If you have more than one user using this Steam installation, you may have more than one directory, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to find the right one. Technically the directory you want is named after your SteamID3.
Następnie, below that, the Diabolical saved game directory is 416640. (This is Diabolical’s app ID number; you can see this for yourself by going to the Steam store page for Diabolical and examining the URL.)
Wreszcie, “remote” has the saved files. The only one you really need to manipulate is “storePSdiabolicalPSstate”.
Więc, in summary:
C:\Pliki programu (x86)\Steam\userdata\(your SteamID3)\416640\remote
