The developer of Nucleares has released a new update for the game on April 11, 2024. Here are the new things that you should expect to see or change on this new update. This information was curated directly from the official announcement on Steam.

The following improvements and fixes were implemented:

  • Added the ability to activate cursor mode at any time to interact with any switch.
  • Added the valve panel of coolant loading circuits.
  • Improvements were made to the player’s avatar animations when interacting with switches: hand position, rotatiom, movement synchronization, etc.
  • Improvements were made to the proportion of the player’s avatar and the placement of some controls and switches.
  • Improvements were made so that the player can interact with the hand closest to the switch, making interactions more dynamic.
  • Improvements were made to player positioning routines on control consoles when interacting with switches.
  • Improved the control rod temperature dissipation calculation based on position.
  • Modified the Synchroscope so it can be manipulated without trapping the player’s focus.
  • Modified the Synchroscope RPM display to show the current RPM instead of the Synchroscope offset.
  • Modified the behavior of the Synchronizer buttons, so that for safety reasons they do not respond if the breaker is closed.
  • Modified the notice “The reactor core must be offline” in the tablet’s tasks app. Now only appears if the core is in a reactive state.
  • Modified the virtual keyboards exit key from ESC to SPACE BAR to avoid conflicts with some settings.
  • Modified the way the player interact with virtual keyboards to make it faster.
  • Modified the density of trees outside to improve game performance.
  • Fixed bug that prevented advanced reflections from being disabled.
  • Fixed bug of critical mass animations when changing reactor operating mode.
  • Fixed bug of repeated events in the maintenance report.
  • Fixed bug that sometimes occurred where the avatar’s hand or arm would be stuck in the air without any object in it.
  • Fixed bug in the operating crane camera, which did not allow you to see correctly underwater or when there was radioactivity.
  • Fixed bug in the valve opening indicators, which did not update quickly enough while turning the handle manually.
  • Fixed bug with valve panel not starting properly updated after loading a saved progress.
  • Fixed bug with resistances lost on repair clamps when loading saved progress.
  • Fixed bug when calculating wear based on use.
  • Fixed some translations (English language).
  • Made optimizations to improve game performance.

This update is compatible with all previous savegames. If you’re having trouble loading a saved progress, please let me know!
The experimental chemistry module is not compatible with previous saved progress.
We are waiting for you in the game’s Discord!
